Oh YAY, I like today's saying! This is what I have to keep telling myself on those longer runs--it's all mental.
Well, I'm going to leave here prepared for exercise, but my little girl is asking to go to the big park (and she is long overdue, I think). I know my husband won't take her, so we'll just have to see how today turns out.:ohwell:
I'll check back later.
Hope everyone has a great start to the week.0 -
I posted this one for you Sherry! Saw it right after one of your posts about running & not being properly fueled but doing it anyway.
It's snowing. Was a dicey commute in and it was supposed to be an okay drive home, except that it was supposed to be done snowing by now and it's snowing no sign of letting up. First they said noon, then 2:15, then 3:15, then 4:45 last time I looked. I have a trainer session after work so I'm already stressed out about getting there in time. I keep asking him to give me the 6:30 time and he keeps putting me in at 6:00, which doesn't leave me much extra time when the roads are bad.0 -
Laura, be careful on the roads. I hate that nerve wracking feeling of driving in the snow. Always made me so tense. Hope you make it in time and have a good workout.
Well, with talk of snow, I hate to be the oddball, but.......... today I was conflicted between doing my core workout at the gym, or going for a run (oh yeah, lil girl decided to go home with "daddy", so I was clear to workout). Well, by the time I dropped my son off at his tutor, the decision was clear--it was t-shirt weather and I wanted to visit the beach. :glasses: So, I ran 28min to the beach (in my tshirt), hung out under a palm tree for about 20min and then ran 28min back. Okay, so it wasn't a long, continuous run, but last time it was really hard to run past the beach and not even slow down to enjoy it, so today I did. Didn't quite enjoy it as much as the people swimming, playing beach racquet, and sunning themselves (yep! there were women sunning themselves in bikinis---strange weather this year!). Tomorrow's supposed to be even warmer, but I couldn't wait. I'll just have to face the same decision tomorrow too I guess.
Today's quote really helped on the run back. I was way underfueled, but I kept remembering today's quote and also remembering everyone here in the group--wanted to be able to report that I made it running all the way back and I did!0 -
Sounds like an awesome run! Glad you took the time to enjoy the weather!0
