It goes from Okaihau to Kerikeri. There's an 8k in Paihia, part of the same series as the 1/2 marathon. Not sure when though.

Do a half first?? :D You could come to Taupo in August and meet some of us MFP gals :) I am doing it a second time, want to improve my time :D and it is a nice run around the lake. Well, nice as far as running 21.1k is haha

Check out https://www.aucklandmarathon.co.nz. I've done the Auckland half three times now - the half goes over the bridge too so you don't have to do the full 42km if you don't want to. I'm planning on doing it again this year. I train with the YMCA marathon club - we run Sunday mornings and it is a great way to get a regular long run in. They do a ten week build up programme for the marathon which begins in July - runs start at about 16km and peak at 36km three weeks before the race. If you're interested in joining us, take a look at http://www.ymcamarathon.org.nz/home.

I've done the Auckland half marathon, it was a great experience. They do have a cut-off for reaching the bridge, 14km from the start. After which they reopen the bridge and people are bused over. Our goal was to get to the bridge before it was reopened and we got to the top of the bridge and could look down on the buses picking people up.

I've signed up for my first half this year - St Clair Vineyard Half in Blenheim in May. Quite excited and nervous at the same time :-)

I'm looking for a training buddy, Ii have signed up to do the Auckland half in November, if anyone out there is also doing it, I live in west Auckland and would love someone train with as I'm finding it hard to push myself some days on my own.
