Week 1

After having a super sore knee the last time I was going to start up on C25K program, I held off a few more weeks. I finally went and got myself fitted for a pair of running shoes a few weeks ago. After I purchased them, it was another week before I had enough nerve to try to start running on the treadmill. For whatever reason, I had a fear of running on a treadmill (not to mention being a little self conscience) and since the weather was still terrible outside, it was my only option. Once I just bit the bullet and went for it, I found I really enjoyed it. I'm only on Day 2 of Week 1 and I only have two more days this week to catch up--I tried to do two days of each day with one days rest. We'll see if it works. I was just thankful for the responses in my last post in the C25K Group because they were so encouraging and really helped get me moving...even though it took me awhile.

At this point, week 9 seems so far away and so unreachable, but I'm going to keep going and hopefully I'll surprise myself!!

Happy Running everyone!!

Congrats!! Stick with it, and the nine weeks flies by! I'm on Week 7, and I could have sworn to you that I started two weeks ago. It's been great. I wouldn't say that I enjoy running quite yet, perhaps because I'm stuck inside on the treadmill, but I certainly don't dread it like I once did!

    Good effort, well done

Don't feel too pressured to complete it in a "week", the main thing is to keep the consistency going, leave a rest day between runs but try to avoid more than a couple of days off. If you push yourself into feeling as if you're cramming it in you might find that it becomes stressful rather than enjoyable.

Just relax, it's perfectly possible and achievable. All the best with it.

Don't even think about Week 9. Just pretend it will never happen and focus on your next run.

and CONGRATUATIONS for starting. As running guru John Bingham once said "The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."

You don't need to worry about completing the 3 workouts in a calendar week... Just keep up the good work, and the time will FLY by! I swear since I started using C25K and similar running apps time goes by much faster!
