Is the interval training just helpful for weightloss?

I plan to start Stage 2 in the not very distant future. I am at my goal weight and I do not care about doing cardio or adding more time to my workout. Will skipping the interval training put me at a disadvantage in some other way? Unless I missed it, Stage 2 in the book only mentions interval training for calorie burn and fat loss.

The interval training is more for cardio fitness, not losing weight. If you aren't worried about aerobic fitness, or have other forms of aerobic training you prefer then skip it if you want. I run 25 miles a week on top of this, so I don't do the intervals afterwards.

Pretty much what rduhlir said. It can be good for adding more "burn" to your workout, but it's also great for your heart while being very time efficient. I do it because of what it does for my overall fitness.
