eating on recovery day

So, when I do the math provided by the Insanity book I should be eating about 1550 calories a day since it's such a hard workout. Now, I've been programmed that 1200 is the perfect number for my age & size, etc.. But when I factor in the workouts from Insanity the 1550 count totally makes sense.
Now, on recovery day & rest day- how should I eat. I mean I apprecaite the recovery video, but I don't break a sweat- ya know. So should I just stick to 12 or 1300 today (I logged it at about 100 calories burned because the squats, lunges, etc... are challenging and 100 calories is what MFP says 30 minutes of calisthenics is)

Thoughts?

Recovery day I only count as one calorie, and I am very strict about sticking with in my calorie count.

I would eat at 1300 calories. I log recovery too and it's about that. I also walk or run on recovery day and eat back those calories as well, and I have been losing weight, so I think that seems to work. On rest day I just eat the 1200 (except last rest day, I went to a movie and had some snacks so I jumped on the treadmill for 30 minutes when I got home). Hope that helps.

    That does help, thanks!
  • This is always a concern for me too. I have started a strategy of doing some very low intensity aerobics to keep my body in rhythm. My calorie intake goals are about double of yours, but same rule applies. Alternatively, you can always do the standard 10 minute warmup routine, and that influences sweating out throughout the recovery routine.
