So My 1st 5k is next week and I've been doing the c25k on my treadmill. Question is I am running the course outside tomorrow morning and want to know what do I wear for a run.

This is pretty individual to each person. The general rule is to dress for 10 degrees warmer than what it is outside. So if it is 50 out, dress for 60. You just have to play with what works for you.

On a side note. This being your first run outside, do not get discuraged if you end up having to walk a little bit. When you shift from treadmill to streets your body has to readjust to the new terrain. If outside ends up being a bit hard, just shfit back into a run/walk pattern that will work for you.

Yeah, lots of factors - where you live, what the weather is like at run time, and varies by runner for sure.

This time of year, no matter where you live (unless you're in a tropical place), expect a chilly start - you will warm up within the first 10 minutes or so. Layers are a good idea, things you can unzip and vent if you're too warm, or even tie around your waist if you need to take a layer off (personally, I'd rather be cold than run with something tied around my waist, but that's just me! ).

It will take some trial and error to figure out what works best for ya. If you could post your weather forecast for tomorrow, temps, cloudy, sunny, wind, rain, snow, etc, we might be able to offer a bit more advice.

Everyone is different and you'll change over time as your body adapts to the temps

I dress for a 20 degree difference. That is, when its 40 degrees outside, I dress assuming that it's 60. So for 40 degrees, I wear shorts, and either a short sleeve wicking shirt, or a long sleeve wicking shirt. If its windy as well, then definitely long sleeve and there is a chance I'll double layer.

I will run down to -10 with upwards of 3 layers. At 30 degrees or less, I wear compression shorts or pants as a base. Generally in colder weather I will overdress though.
25-40 degrees - I'll be wearing thinner compression pants with water resistant pants over top, compression shirt + long sleeve top and optional jacket, optional headgear and optional hands
10-25 degrees - I'll be wearing heavier compression pants with water resistant pants over top, compression shirt + long sleeve top, and optionally another long sleeve top. Always a jacket, headgear, and hands.
0-10 degrees - I'll be wearing heavier compression pants with water resistant pants over top, compression shirt + long sleeve top, and another long sleeve top, one of which must be a mock, the jacket, headgear (possibly balaclava) with hood up, hands
-10-0 degrees - Heavy tights, thermal pants, then water resistant pants over top. compression shirt + 2 more long sleeve tops including the mock, jacket, balaclava, hands.

Hands: I have two different sets of gloves. One is light, actual gloves, that I wear between about 28 and 40 degrees. The other is a set of fingerless gloves/mittens that are heavier and I wear for below 28.

When I first go out, I'll feel a little cold, but my core is warmed up within a minute or two. My hands take the longest to warm up, usually not until I've gone about 1.5 miles. If you are susceptible to the same, have some mittens with you. I'd rather overdress my hands then under as I can always take off the mittens or gloves.

The compression pants and shirt I wear are Sub Sports (DUAL and COLD editions) available on Amazon. Sets usually run about $80 which is uber cheap compared to something like 2XU. Looks like they are on sale now at $55 for a set of top and bottoms - I might have to snag another.

Well the weather tomorrow will be about 30 with a chance of snow. Of course I only have some nylon(wind) pants to wear. Thinking about a t-shirt with a running blazar that holds in the heat since it will be cold.
