Hi All, Looking at getting a slow cooker for the winter to make lots of heathly stews and soups. Can anyone recommend me a cheap brand that works well for you?

I'm on my second Sunbeam in 30 years. They seem pretty bullet proof.

I think mine might be sunbeam too, but my recommendation is to get one with an "Auto" setting. A lot of them, surprisingly, don't have this and it is the best thing ever - you can literally pile all the ingredients into it in the morning, switch it on "auto" and leave the house. Best thing ever for time poor people. I use it around twice a week for dinners and that usually gets us through the work week.
