No Thyroid

I have had a total thyroidectomy a little over a year ago. I am on levothyroxine and tests come out normal. I have increased my walking steps on Fitbit to try and lose weight. I am not gaining, but not losing either. Any suggestions on how to lose the weight?

Hey! I also had a total TT and have had a hard time losing weight. My levels have yet to be normal but from what I hear and have read the more you move and workout the easier it is to lose weight when you have thyroid problems.
Good luck - you are not alone.

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease) and take 88mcg Synthroid. I lost way more slowly than most MFPers, but I lost. All I did was set a reasonable deficit & follow my calorie goal. Your Fitbit burn is your TDEE, so if you eat less than that you will lose weight.

Edited to add: Weigh your food. Log everything you eat accurately & honestly.
