Would Love Some Advice

Hi Sidesteel and Sarauk2sf
I would love a bit of advice. Or a lot of advice. There is so much stuff in the forums and I don't feel like I can ask a question without being called an idiot, or getting insane advice. My question is pretty close to a lady who just posted, we have almost the same stats, but I didn't want to hijack her thread, so I figured I should create my own. Anyway here's what's been going on.
I started getting serious about weight loss in october of last year. Started out at 138. Height is 5'4. Started with JM 30 day shred and lost a couple of inches and probably 3 or 4lbs or so. All the while staying around 1200-1300 calories, which i know now, is stupid.
From there I got challenged to do insanity with a group of people. I just completed it saturday (I'm the ONLY one that stuck it out!!) and during insanity I was eating around 1600-1700 calories a day. I did this amount just in case I was off on how much I was burning, or if I was eating more than I thought (I tried to overestimate calories if my scale or nutritional informaton for my food was unavailable). And I was logging consistently.
Anyway, I have been doing this 5 months and the scale has been stuck at 132-133 since I started insanity. My lowest was 130, but I haven't seen that number in about 2 weeks. I took a break from logging part of this weekend because I got so frustrated I felt I needed a break and my motivation was waning, bad. It's hard when you work your tail off and it's for nothing. Either way, i did not binge and probably ate about 1500 calories each day.
Since Insanity, my measurements are almost exactly the same. Right now i'm at a 26 inch waist, 37.5 hips, 10.5 arms.
I am on the last 7-8lbs and i don't know what more I can do to get them off.
Right now I am doing T25 (just started yesterday) and the calorie burns are about 250 each. Someone suggested that I eat 2000 calories a day, and that my tdee was 2000 and something, but according to my fitbit, my tdee is around 1800 with exercise, bmr is 1400 something. With my calorie burns now being around 300 a day, 6 days a week (I pair T25 with walking) how much should I be eating? I know that since I have little to lose I should be shooting for .5 a day, and I would be thrilled with that. But I'm not even hitting that. Nothing is moving, not the tape measure, not the scale
Sorry this is so long. I just don't know what else to do and feel like I am losing all motivation and am just about ready to throw in the towel. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen.
ETA: I'm not on any special diets or anything. I just try to stay within my goal and eat what I want as long as it fits in my calories for the day.

We are so close in our goals and height!0 -
Since this is intake/plateau related, please fill this out. You can paste this in a reply on this thread:

So sorry, didn't see this!! Here you go
Provide your stats (height/weight/age/bodyfat% if you know it/etc) : 5'4, Height, 132 Weight
What's your current gross intake of calories, on average? about 1500
What's your current average intake of protein, carbs, and fats, in grams? (GRAMS, not percent!), Approximately: 180-200 carbs, 100g protein, 65-70g fat.
Do you use a food scale and measure everything? Yes! i have a digital food scale and measure everything I can unless I am at a retaurant, which is pretty rare.
Do you track all of your intake, daily? (Everything?) Yes, I track everything. The only thing I do not track is black coffee
Do you take cheat days or days off? No. I took one this last weekend, and still only ate about 1700 calories per day.
How much weight have you lost so far and over what time period? I started in October, and I've lost about 6lbs
Describe your activity (exercise and non exercise) and did you change that activity withing the last couple of months? I started out with Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and paired it with 20 minutes of running and elliptical. Burned about 350-400 cals a day. Then I moved on to Insanity and started that January 6th. Burned about 400-500 most days. Just finished March 8th. Intook about 1700-1800 calories during on most days. Measurements stayed nearly exactly the same.
How long have you been stalled and if it is not a complete stall please be very specific as to how much you have lost over the stalled period. I stalled in February. I can't be sure exactly how much because my weight fluctuates day to day. Sunday I was up to 134 the week before that, 132, the week before that, 130. My goal is to be 120-125.
Are you breastfeeding? No
Do you have thyroid issues/risks or PCOS? Not that I am aware of.
Also, please ensure that you have your diary open. NOTE: It needs to be set as public even if you are on our friends list. Do not set it to friends only, set it to public My diary is public!
Thank you !!0 -

Moving this up, we will get to this soon. Thanks for your patience.0

Your averages are actually a bit different than what you believe them to be, at least when I pull back through January and run your averages.
At any rate, please set your intake as follows for the next two weeks:
1490 cals
140 carb
50 fat
120 protein
Follow up with us in 2 weeks with weight ins (weigh yourself daily and record it, report back with daily weight between now and two weeks).
This is gross intake, you do not eat back exercise calories on this model.
Let me know if you have questions.0 -
Ok, I will set my calories to 1490. Just one question also,
I have messed up my knee doing insanity. My physical therapist told me to stay off my knee for at LEAST a week. Do I need to lower my calories more because of this? I was told that I couldn't even go walking, because of something caled IT Band Syndrome.
Are there any other exercises I could do upper body wise that would burn calories? I am not able to put any weight on my knee at all.
Thank you SO SO MUCH.
ETA: Is there a protein powder you can advise that is lower in calorie? I have a harder time getting that much protein with lower calorie intake.
I am so thankful for your help; seriously0 -
How long have you had to stay off your knee for so far?0
-
I took Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off for my knee. Worked out yesterday doing T25. After that is when I talked to the PT and he told me to stay off of it. I thought maybe 3 days would be enough, but it's still aggravated. He told me to stay off of it for a week at least. So to me, that means 7 days at the most. lol0

"ETA: Is there a protein powder you can advise that is lower in calorie? I have a harder time getting that much protein with lower calorie intake."
The lowest calorie one I've found is Dymatize Elite. (Although most of them are really pretty similar) When I'm low in protein I'll do 1 scoop mixed with 6oz. of Fage 0% Greek yogurt and bam, 43g of protein with 230 calories.0 -

Trutein and ON both come in around 120 kcal per 23-24g protein, for what it's worth.0 -
Great, i will look into getting some trutein.
Any idea of what to do because of my knee? Do I need to lower my calories even more?
I just took my first day of a medrol dose pack, so I'm going to be struggling with rage eating today i'm sure. But my knee was killing my last night!0 -
Also wanted to add; I'm pretty proud of myself. I worked out with some weights yesterday. They were only 10lb dumbbells, and I was ordered not to do any strength training, but as long as I was sitting down, I figured I would be ok. I don't know if it's at all helpful with them being such light weights, but I figured it couldn't hurt0
-
Could you keep the intake as suggested, follow up in two weeks and we will take your reduced activity into account when we have your updated stats.0
-
Great will do; I'll be back in 2 weeks!0

Hi there,
I am back to update, sorry that I took longer than expected. I had my cycle towards the end, but had another slight drop in weight after it was over. Here are my results:
3/18/2014 128.3
3/19/2014 130.6
3/20/2014 130.3
3/21/2014 129.6
3/22/2014 129
3/23/2014 129.2
3/24/2014 129.6
3/25/2014 128.6
3/26/2014 127.8
3/27/2014 127.8
3/28/2014 128
3/29/2014 127.8
3/30/2014 127.8
3/31/2014 128.6
3/2/2014 128.8
4/7/2014 127.6
4/8/2014 127
4/9/2014 126.6
So, as you can see my weight has been fluctuating a bit, like normal, but it has a downward trend, which is a success, so thank you!
Now that I am working out again, (I'm doing t25 and burn about 250 cals a day) do you think I should change anything? I just started working out while eating at 1490 about a week ago, but did not eat my exercise calories back. It seems to be working, but I did struggle on trying to get the right amount of protein on that number. Thoughts? Seems to be working !0 -
Also, that was supposed to be "4/2" when I jumped back up to almost 129. And that was when I was on my cycle.0

bumpity bump!0

Leave intake as is, provide us with an update in about 1 week, give or take. Sooner if you have any issues.
Things look reasonable as they are.0 -
OK- so this is a zombie thread. I asked for it to be unlocked a while ago, but then couldn't find the link. I finally decided to dig for it. And with good reason.
I have now hit my final goal.
I reached my goal of 120 the week before my birthday (b-day 7/21/). I really just wanted to thank you guys for putting in the time and effort. I really wasn't sure how much I should be eating and you gave me what seemed like the magic number. I set my goals to what you gave me, stuck to them, continued working out, and the weight finally came off. I had some ups and downs on the scale, and it took me until the end of July to lose the last pesky 6-7lbs, but they came off. I'm now in maintenance mode (whatever that is), and to be honest, I have no idea what i'm doing lol. I guess I can just play around with numbers until my weight stays stable with how much i'm comfortable eating.
So again, thank you to both of you. I really appreciate the help, and now I'm going to try to build some muscle. But I am very happy with how I look and am very grateful for the help
