My thyroid lab result

Options
Hi, I've been getting frequent heart palpitation and shortness of breath so I went to see a doctor to get my thyroid checked. My results were:

Free T3 2.81 pmol/l Result Normal Range 2.22 - 5.34 pmol/l

Free T4 14.57 pmol/l 9.0 - 19.0 pmol/l

TSH 1.79 pmol/l Eurothyroid : 02-5 ulU/ml
Hyperthyroid: 0.15 ulU/ml
Hypothyroid : 7 ulU/ml

My doctor said that these are all normal but I think it might be still a concern related to what's happening to me?
Thanks

Holy T4, Batman! I would say, in my totally non-expert opinion, that you might be slightly hyperthyroid. With your TSH below the normal range and the symptoms you're describing, I would not be shocked at all if you were diagnosed as such. Are you on meds of any kind?

No meds. I'm thinking that my Free T3 is way to low and my Free T4 is too high meaning my free t4 isn't converting enough into T3.
What's the normal range for TSH?

I would agree - your free T3 should be higher (5-ish)...

Your doctor is using an outdated TSH lab range (should be 0.3 to 3). Anything higher than 3 is hypothyroid, most patients feel good at a TSH of 1-ish, sometimes a little lower. I shudder to think the doctor is letting patients get to a 7 before treating (I hate life at anything above a 3).

You can still be hypothyroid and have a "normal TSH". TSH is a pituitary gland hormone, not a thyroid hormone. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/tsh-why-its-useless/

Edited: I think your Free T4 is actually probably fine (scroll down on this post): http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/lab-values/

I noticed in your food journal it looks like you’re on a pretty low carb diet. Not sure if you heard about this before and this is bit controversial, but some practitioners believe that very low carb diets for some people can adversely affect your thyroid, in particular, it can inhibit T4 to T3 conversion resulting in some hypothyroid symptoms. Here is a podcast where Chris Kresser talks about this:
