Running in the rain

I have started by 4 round of C25K. For the first time, this time all my runs are outside (I no longer have a gym membership).
This week I ran on Monday and Wednesday. I should have pushed myself to run last night (Friday) but that is in the past.
It is now Saturday morning, it is raining, and Cyclone Lusi is on its way. My motivation is wavering - how would you motivation weather the storm?

My rule is not to run in lightning or nasty wind storms. Other than that I run. Don't be sad if you end up not being able to get the run in. It will happen again later in life as well. Just do it tomorrow if you need and adjust your next week as needed.0

Back from my run with a great feeling of achievement. I was actually a lot faster than usual!
P.S. I love how this group gives a sense of moral support even before a post has replies.0 -

Kudos to you for getting your run in.
My general rule has been that if I'd be willing to walk or run to my car in the current weather I should be willing to run just a couple miles further. Now if the rain is coming down at the rate that my vision is possibly impair my vision... wait it out for a half hour and try again. Get the run in if at all possible, it's important in the beginning.

Fantastic! I am glad you got out there. We have been having a drought (California), so I have only been out in the rain about 2 or 3 times, it was fantastic! I loved the feeling, it was like being a kid again chasing rainbows in the rain. The only downside was that the leaves & pine needs make for slipper terrain over the concrete, but it was still fun & I will do it again. I hope you have more opportunities to go play in the rain. Of course if it’s a torrential downpour & you can’t see, etc. then no I wouldn’t call that fun, so in the future do what works for your comfort level.0
