I won't lie...I am not big on vanity runs myself. I prefer runs with timing chips so I can get a sense of how well I am doing compared to last time. But have fun!0

Well i am not sure i would label it "vanity". The last RAD run i did, proceeds went to Ronald McDonald charities- which is very dear to me, since Ronald McDonald house housed myself and my family while my son was hospitalized with a severe birth defect and required surgery right after birth.
This RAD run's proceeds go for the Children's hospital.
Each run you do you is bound to improve you and your health, and to track it i use the C25K app to follow and track the run as well as the time. Also my family is becoming involved as well, so that is motivation enough for me. I am setting a good example for my kids and my family, helping charity, and improving my health--to me that is not vanity.0 -

Didn't say that it wasn't for a good cause. Most vanity runs are. Vanity refers to the paint and dressing up, etc... They generally don't use timing chips, nor draw competative runners. The Color Run, ColorMeRad, ColorRad, GloRun, Glow In the Park, Retro 80s, etc... All vanity.0 -

Yes you are right. it is a "fun run"... Im not here to be competitive... im here for better health, including my family, helping charity, and being a good example for my children. If there is any competition, it is for myself to better myself... i was posting to see who might be running this race and see fellow MFP members there..0 -
