Foods we love!

I figured if we have an avoidance thread we should have a foods we love thread!

I just found these Joseph's pitas that have only 60 calories and like 12 grams of carbs (for a whole pita!). They are whole grain and I eat them with hummus for lunch. They are amazing and they don't seem to spike my blood sugar like other bready carbs.

    My favorites, in no-particular-order:

    eggs (free range)
    cheese
    nuts
    cream
bacon (*I buy naturally smoked, nitrate-free from free-range pork from a local butcher)
    chicken (preferably free range/run)
steak (preferably ribeye or t-bone, grass-fed)
pepperoni (gluten-free, it's my only real processed-food weakness)
    butter
    small amounts of dark chocolate

    basically, anything fat LOL.

    Asparagus
    Red bell pepper... grilled
    Kashi Go Lean Cinnamon Crumble
I like this because it is SOOO CRUNCHY
I put about 1/3 cup into a tea cup with some dark cacao chocolate chips, and eat it as a dessert in the evening when
I have some extra calories left.
It satisfies my NEED for something sweet, and I love cinnamon.
Tuna on a toasted whole wheat English muffin
Salsa.. try it with cut veggies instead of tortilla chips.

Ok. More later. I'm getting hungry now.

Skinny Cow caramel truffle ice cream bars and Skinny Cow chocolate/peanut butter crisp bars

Dannon lite and fit greek yogurt

    Colby jack cheese sticks

    Old Dutch puffcorn

    Sugar free jello and popsicles

There are many new things I'm eating now instead of cookies, chips etc but these are some things on my not so horrible treat list.

I found out I LOVE oranges and apples! They are so sweet and satisfying. And I would never have realized this if I hadn't cut out ALL of the junk food I used to eat. I went totally cold turkey when I started trying to lose weight and get my BG under control and found out that food that was good for me could also taste really great. I've added back in occasional treats, but these are still my favorites.
