Hey there everybody! Happy hump day.

I'm currently sliding down the slippery emotional slope that is inevitable before DH travels:cry: . I've been super lazy lately b/c I know that for those 10 days every meal, every cleanup, every morning, every trip to tutor and taekwon-do, every shopping excursion, every everything is going to be done by me with at least 1, if not 2, kids with me. To be honest, I've decided that those 10 days are going to be more about diet than about working out, since I'll be on my feet pretty much from sun up to bedtime, being active won't be a problem. I decided not to even try the gym with the creche, as it's kinda far and I don't need any additional running around during those days, as I'll already be racing the clock so much. So I'll be trying to squeeze in some pushups and squats and the like at home at least every other day, if possible, to try to keep my muscles working a bit (but then again, I'm sure there'll be LOTS of child-carrying in those days too!).

Anyway, blahblahblah ... as for today, did some pushups and housework but that's about it. Still just today and tomorrow left before DH leaves, still need to help him get packed and everything sorted, so I'm not really focused on working out. I have been trying to be much better about diet and drinking water and retraining myself to make better food choices.

So, hope everyone is having a great day and that Spring weather might be peaking around your corner.

Ah....spring. I would love to see spring. We're expecting an ice storm tonight & tomorrow morning, followed by several inches of snow. And then more snow next week. Yay snow in March and April! :explode:

On a happier note, my light workout week is over & I see my trainer again tonight. Also going to run. My run sucked on Monday so I'm hoping today's feels better.

Sherry if focusing on your eating is all you can do, then that's pretty good. It sounds like it's going to be a crazy 10 days!

Sherry hang in there, think tough! I was a single mom for many years with no visitation I had full custody and no child support either my ex took off.

So If I can do it...you can!

Going for a local river walk with a friend in a hour. Trying new eating pattern, will share if it works!!!

Wow Marla, that must've been rough. You're one tough cookie!

I probably sound like a whiner for just 10 days, but it's just that our entire program is setup with the understanding that there are 2 of us (& no help from grandparents), so when one of us is out of commission, it's really rough on the other to maintain a schedule that is setup for 2 people, not 1. Definitely if it were ever longterm there'd have to be lots of changes--like preschool for lil girl, cutting back on son's activities, and at least an occasional babysitter (which we don't even have that) or at least arranging for son to walk to school with a neighbor half the time and v.v. But hey, like my son says whenever something goes wrong with the bus and we end up walking, "At least we'll get our exercise"--Mr. Optimist! So, at least I'll be super active for those days.

Laura, I'm speechless. All I can say is that I hope you have a gorgeous perfect Summer after all this!

So today I ran to the fitness studio and then had my Metabolic Conditioning class and then ran home. It was cold (right at freezing) and really windy, but we are just south of the storm that is hitting the northeastern US and the Maritimes. I have friends in Nova Scotia that are really unhappy with getting a major blizzard in the Spring.

Next week I'm going to start getting personal training at the fitness studio. We'll see how that goes.

Hope the 10 days go by quickly Sherry and everything gets back to normal as soon as possible.

Laura, I hope you are getting the last of the snow for this year! Hope the session with Jason went well tonight.

Late this afternoon I found out that the snow totals tomorrow are expected to be 7-11", with another 12" on Monday/Tuesday next week. Words can't express how actually angry I was. Irrationally angry. I was driving home thinking how this was going to screw up my workouts and just thought "I need to run. I need to run outside." It was 35 degrees and sunny and I had time to sneak in a run before I had to be at the gym for my session with Jason. I ran in the house, stripped off my work clothes, layered up in running clothes, laced up my shoes, and ran out the door. Figured I had an hour (including warm-up & cool down walks). The roads were still wet & icy in spots from last week's snow and the wind was cold but I didn't even care. I got in a 5K walk then walked a few blocks home, changed clothes again, and got to the gym 10 minutes early. Had a tough upper body/abs workout with Jason. Also lost 3.2 pounds since last Monday's gym weigh-in, so I was super excited about that.
