So I have been doing Paleo since January and have lost a decent amount of weight - 25 pounds in the first 8 weeks....However, I have not lost anything in the last 3 weeks. I am basically eating two meals per day....lifting weights 3 days per week and doing interval cardio training 4 days per week....I am 264 lbs today....I can get by on eating 1500-1800 calories per day. I am trying to average out at 1750 calories. I also try and keep my Fat at 55%, Protein at 35% and carbs at 10%.....Please let me know what you think of these ratios? I recently started tracking my food...I think i was eating too much meat in the past....Based on what Ive written here do you think I should see some movement on the scale again? Ps....I know the whole thing about sizes and measurements but I have plenty of room to go with weight loss...Just think I've reached a plateau. Many Thanks, BB:drinker:

For your size you are under-eating. I made that mistake in the beginning and now weight loss is extremely slow.

btw, I don't consider 3 weeks of no weight loss a "plateau".

As per your macros: how do you FEEL? I eat more fat and lower carb but that's what fits my needs. Likely you could lower your protein to 25% and increase your fat, but it's all up to you. Go by your health first and foremost and the weight loss will take care of itself but it takes TIME. I only have another 10 pounds or so to go and I haven't had a new weight loss low in about 4 months. I just keep keeping on. Even if I don't lose another pound, I'm already healthy and feel great.

Keep with exercising and eat ENOUGH healthy food. The scale is not the best measure of progress and it will never show a loss every single week; there are just too many factors affecting what we weigh from day to day. Since the only way the Paleo lifestyle is a win is if it's permanent, it's not a race and your body will get healthier over time. Don't determine your success just by the number displayed on a device.

I've found that having occasional higher carb days (while still lower than most SAD people) helps me shake things up and usually leads to a little jump in weight loss. At least one or two days a week where my carbs are "relatively" higher can help me keep from getting to that stuck point. I don't worry about how many calories overall when I'm eating cleaner but those higher carb days do tend to be somewhat higher calorie days, too.

I agree with both orevious posts. Eat more and maybe try carb backloading.
