Hi all! So far, a better day today, got some walking done for errands after school drop-off. Yesterday I only racked up 6600steps. I think I'll get more today, but if there's any chance of not taking son to the tutor, I'll jump at the chance again (despite yesterday's disaster). I have too much to do at home not to. I am still doing some Spring cleaning (and purging of toys, shoes, etc). Will see what else comes up.
Laura, I hope your eye procedure goes well and recovery goes well too.
Will check back in later to read everybody's updates. Have a good one.0 -
RunSmart class this morning. I hope to get in a short run this evening too.
Glad things are better, Sherry.0 -
Ok finally back at Nia dance class and more awake today!
Every day is a new day Sherry, thats how I look at it, a new start a new chance to have the best day!0 -
Dianalee I could have written your post about running. It never quits snowing here either! I really want to be able to run Monday and Wednesday mornings before work but until it gets just a little lighter and the roads actually clear up I can't do it. I also run Saturdays but can go anytime that day. I'm okay with running on questionable roads as long as I can see where I'm stepping.
I have a new driver for my surgery - one of my friends with 4-wheel drive offered to bring me, so she's going to take me instead. We work together and our boss was super cool about letting her bring me - even said Jen doesn't have to use PTO (I was asking if Jen could use my PTO so she didn't have to use her own).
Glad you're having a better day Sherry! You're in the home stretch now of being a single parent.
Nice workout Donna! Are you still liking the RunSmart class?
I probably won't be online for a couple of days. Looking forward to catching up with everyone when I get back!0 -
Donna, have a good run.
Marla, yay!! You're back! Good to hear.
Laura, nice that you have such great coworkers/boss. Hope the surgery goes well and to hear from you again soon.
Well, I doubled my steps from yesterday to today (13255steps) by doing the regular errands (and *not* skipping tutor today). A good portion of that was carrying lil girl and I finally just took the sling with me and wore her. It's a constant 40lb load on my back and shoulder, BUT no lifting up & putting down and I don't have to use my arms, which had gotten pretty tired by mid-day. Just trying to make it through tomorrow, sail through the weekend, and one last go on Monday til DH arrives. I've certainly learned alot about my kids through all this. For example, lil girl get grumpier in the evening due to the early wake-up, BUT she's 100 times more sociable in the afternoon at school pick-up than she's ever been, I think because she feels more connected to the school because she comes for the drop-off too. This is a huge breakthrough for us, because my son is the most social kid I've ever known, but lil girl has been very sheepish and shy...til now...she's suddenly come out of her shell. Wondering whether I should keep school drop-off as part of the routine in the future. (ugh! the thought!)
Well, off to relax and get some zzzz's. See y'all tomorrow (Friday on the horizon!)0 -
Argh! I keep forgetting to post here on the actual day!
Had a not bad day yesterday. Did my 30 Day Shred and elliptical in the evening. Had a coworkers birthday, so there was cake in the afternoon. I hadn't budgeted for it, so I did extra on my workout to make sure I burned it off. I'm officially at the half way point of 30 DS! I did 5 days of Level 1, 10 days of Level 2, and now I'm on to 15 days of Level 3. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to move onto next, but I want to get a plan in place within the next week otherwise I tend to let too much time go by before I get back into it. I planned this one so I would have my last workout on Good Friday, and then we'll be going away for a couple days for Easter so those will be my rest days. Then I will start my next one on either the Monday or Tuesday after Easter. I have a few Jillian Michael's DVDs other than 30 DS: Ripped in 30, Shred it with Weights, and 6 Week 6 pack. I've done Level 1 of Shred it With Weights and I enjoyed it, but I think I might do Ripped in 30 next. Open to suggestions if you have any.
Happy Friday and I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!0
