Happy April everyone!! Hopefully, Spring will get a foothold soon. There was snow here in the last few days, so I'm really looking forward to some sunshine soon. I've been so out of the weight loss and exercise groove, it's not even funny. My daughter and granddaughters were visiting last week for Spring break. We went here, there, and everywhere! We played at our cabin for two days and nights, too. Then, the clean-up after they go back home. Now, I'm getting ready to travel to San Francisco this Saturday to see my son, DIL, and granddaughter. It's my son's birthday, and I can't wait to see him!

I have to say, I really, really suck at staying to my eating plan, logging food, and getting my exercise done when I'm playing with my kids and grandkids. :( And it shows:

(up ANOTHER pound!)

We had some a scarry thing happen on Friday night. Coming down from the cabin (high elevation) to go to the dentist for a crown (low elevation), combined with nitris oxide (laughing gas), novacaine, and his regular meds for pain, my husband got up to go to the bathroom during the night, and passed out! Falling to the tile floor, he got a big and deep gash on his head, right on the eyebrow! There was sooooo much blood! I got the bleeding stoopped, and got him to the emergency room around 11:30 pm. They did tests to try to figure out why he may have passed out, but the EKG, CT scan, blood tests, etc, were all negative. Fourteen stitches later, they sent us home. We got home at 4:30 am Saturday. He's doing better, and went back to work today. Scary stuff!!

Lois, I've enjoyed the Cardio Barre classes, which I got on a Groupon. But, I don't think it burns many calories. I'm starting to ask around about gyms. I belonged to Gold's here for a while, but the classes weren't that good, and there were so many men always staring into the aerobics room (which was all glass next to the men's free weights area)! Once, I tried to lift free weights in that area, and got a lot of unwanted "advice" from the guys there. Anyway, I'm getting pretty discouraged. I'm headed to the dreaded TM now. I must figure out how to get myself focused!

DAG NAB!!! Well a 2 lb GAIN while my son was visiting. NO I am not blaming him. We had a blast. Though I did partake of many foods and drinks not in my normal intake. I don't even think they were excessive, simply poor choices.

Sheesh - I am so glad hubby is doing better. SUPER SCARY!

Light - it was great to hear from you and your update.

Something I was thinking pretty deeply about the other night, it seems we are all having challenges getting back into our groove. I don't know what to do to jump start us. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANYONE GIVE UP OR STOP POSTING ON THE BOARDS EITHER!!! ON THE POSITIVE - it seems we are all staying within a 5lb variance (me 5 anyway). I'm more refocused and committed to my physical fitness...between group fitness classes AND therapy AND hiking - I'm doing fairly well. Not always 10k per day, but averaged very close. Leg still swells from activity. ggrrrr

I'm really having a challenge with the food choices and preparation. Last week, even when my son was not in town, I was not prepared on most nights for dinner, so it was frozen pizza or Chipotle. With my son leaving on Monday morning, I was so exhausted that I wanted to crawl into bed when I got home from work (no training). HOWEVER, I remembered the 5lbs of chicken I had defrosted and marinated, so I stayed up and grilled those breasts!! I wasn't hungry because I had a dental appt earlier that day to have a cracked filling replaced and my mouth was still numb and tingling. So we were lucky and had chicken last night and there is enough for tonight and tomorrow as well - WOOT WOOT!!

At work we had two employees quit a few weeks ago in critical positions, so I am super duper stressed getting the new one up and running. Doing my job and a good portion of hers as she gets going. It's not her fault, but darn it's taking its toll on me and another person. I may have to miss training again tonight as we prepare for another client who is coming in tomorrow morning. It is either miss training tonight or therapy tomorrow. I'm opting for tonight as I need some rubbing on that knee. Hopefully we'll get caught up by the end of the week and I can get back into my routine on Monday. PLUS, it's staying lighter so I want to start my post work hikes too!!

This weekend is tournament, so a packed lunch and starbucks I shall partake. I don't know where we will be going for dinner, but at least it's not a party fest type of dinner. I usually make good choices at this one because it's a sustenance in need decision, I don't like fast food post tournament. So a restaurant with other students and parents...and no drinking :) Hiking on Sunday and then meal prep! I have on my calendar to grocery shop on Friday night on my way home.

Anyway...how do we get refocused?!?!?!?!. My goal this week is to come up with something...anything...and share it.

a little late but at least I am here :) Work has been pretty time consuming and they added an hour meeting at the end of each day which made it really hard to have any logging/posting time. I don't know what my step average is this week and not going to take the time to figure it out since it's either do that or do this post and then I have a ton of house stuff to get caught up on. Steps are still way down and I know that but I did manage to get out twice during lunch to grab a walk :) Proud of myself for that. Also proud of the fact I had frozen meals on hand so when they popped those after work meetings on me, I was able to pack both lunch and dinner in the lunchbox and keep on track calorie wise. Luckily the meetings were done over the phone via conference call so I went to the kitchen, microwaved supper and ate while the meeting went on, all of them none the wiser thanks to a mute button LOL :) I'd rather have a good home cooked meal than fast food anyways. I've been on a quiche kick for the last month but just did 2 strata recipes this morning and think I have more new favorites to my meal plan :)

Anyways, yesterday's weigh in showed me at 175.6, down from last weekend's 177 which is fine by me. I figured on just maintaining with all the stress I'm under and the cut back on exercise but certainly not complaining.

Hate to keep this so short but I seriously need to tackle some other pressing things. Sheesh, scary things at your place, glad your hubby was okay even though he ended up with stitches. Glad you had some family time and hope this next week will be lots of fun for you. Lois, also glad you were able to get some son time and that you were able to get some food prep done in spite of yourself last week. Have fun at the tournament.

Sarah, where are you ? You are usually a very regular presence among us. Any news on the BB replacement?

How about the rest of you missing people? How are you doing?

    Okay... really gotta run :)
