UGH-

Ok, help me, Sisters!!! I am SO pissed!! I have followed the guidelines emphatically! I GAINED 3 pounds!!! Since I started 40+ days ago, I've lost 2 pounds a week except for two weeks where I stayed the same, because I didn't do the eat up days. Go figure. This week I gained 3 pounds!! I did my eat up day and then I had two more days, where I ate more than my 1200 but not more than 1400 and my maintenance is 1600. I did eat more sugar those two days. I do the venus workout 2-3 times a week.

I'm starting to have those "What is the f-ing point of all this?!" thoughts!!! Someone talk me off the ledge!!

Is is about to be that time of the month by any chance? I say give it a day and then weigh yourself again. It may be just water or muscle gain. Also, sometimes our bodies don't always do what we want them to. Ignore the scale keep following the plan and I bet next week you will see a nice loss again.
  • Oh no.. that stinks! But don't quit. RockVixen is right, give it another week without any additional change and see what happens. If you are still seeing a gain or no loss, then go back to basics, weighing or measuring EVERYTHING and setting deficit days at 1000, Or even at 900 to allow for bad packaging/measuring.

You don't want to stop, because you know where that will lead, to gaining back all of it. At least that is where it always leads for me when I stop focusing. I know it stinks, but hang in there. You may be at a stall or a temporary water gain, but your whoosh will come back, it will.

  • As for 'that time of the month' I had a hysterectomy, but I do have my ovaries so I'm not really sure if the body still does the water weight thing. I was hoping it might be water - even from the more sugar.

I know you all are right. That's why I posted...I needed to hear it!! I need the support. Thank you!!

So did you eat anymore sodium this week or alcohol? I find sodium is a killer - 2 extra KG's no probs :)

Drink a heap of water and maybe go back to 6:1 days for the next couple of weeks and defo eat up the calories on the day off

    Cheers

  • I realized this afternoon that perhaps it was due to my running out of my high blood pressure meds - it has a diuretic in it. Between that, the extra sugar AND the fact that that sugar was dairy which I'd basically eliminated, I think I figured it out. I got my refill, worked out and am indeed drinking the extra water with lemon.

Hi sorry for slow reply been away from computer. I hate those weight gain weeks. I find they are not permanent wait three days then weigh again. Remember what the calculator in the VI said about your possible fluctuations. I know mine is +4lbs. I also know when I don't see what I want to see on the scales in can send me into a downward spiral. I have a friend who only ways once a month and swears by it. Think I might try that too. It sounds like you've worked it out anyway -well done. Keep the faith ;)
  • ACK!! Thanks pantsonfire!! I needed that, because I got on the scale again this morning - after eating 1000 AND working out yesterday AND restarting my med - and I am up another pound. WTH???!!!! I thought I was doing well, just weighing once a week. I've weighed myself every day since the gain though and up up up it goes! sigh....
