I have a major food problem. Its gotten out of control. I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried losing weight for 2 years now. I eat & eat until my stomach feels like it's gonna explode. I don't even know what the cause is mainly. Anger? Loneliness? Sad? Happy? Bored? I feel so heartbroken every time I fail. There are so many quotes on the Internet saying "if you slip up its not a failure, just pick yourself back up again"
I've been picking myself back up for 2 years now.I've grown tired. and mad and jealous. Tired of starting over. Mad because I give up easily. And jealous of other people who have it easy with weight loss and food. But most of all I'm angry. Because I know the words I write today won't matter a thing when I'm in front of the ice cream and chips.
There's something wrong with me.

I just want to tell you, you are not alone... The journey is hard... Please try to find a friend in MFP & account for yourself... Add me if you like...0

Your not alone I understand and also experience the shame, sadness and guilt fro m binging. It's frustrating and it makes you feel crazy. Your not crazy and I believe you'll get through this. Feel free to add meas a friend. You don't have to walk alone. No judgment here.0

I have been struggling with binge eating for 6 years now and I don't know what to do. I feel like I've read everything there is to read and I'm so conscious of my behavior, but I still keep repeating the same patterns. The worst is when nothing is wrong and I still find myself doing it. Please feel free to add me as well, and maybe we can be support.0

HI
I'd add to seek help if you can, there's even free counseling if you look for it. I finally saw a nutritionist and it's making me think differently, after so many years, this is helping.
Also, are you eating a balanced diet? Imbalanced eating will not help with cravings and binge eating. Once I started eating more balanced, my urges are much more diminished.
good luck- feel free to friend me.

Hi,
Don't be ashamed, everyone has their faults and at the very least you realize where your problem is. I have the same problem (not daily, though it used to be) and what helps me is:
1.) Don't keep the junk in your house.
2.) Make your own (healthier) alternatives. For example, flavor and freeze some plain yogurt and have some of that instead of ice cream.
3.) When you really need to satisfy a craving, go out and get a reasonable amount of what you're craving and allow yourself to be bad for a minute without the guilt. Instead of buying the large bag of chips and keeping it in the house, buy the snack size and be done with it. If you want ice cream, go get one cone/scoop and that's all you need.
You'll be okay!0 -
I suggest counseling. It's a very intimidating step to take, but it can help. In fact just today I reached out and took that first step to start therapy again because of my binging.
You are definitely not alone.0
