When to eat

I'm curious to know if it's better to eat before or after a work out, OR does it even matter? Someone recently told me that I should eat after a work out because my body is still burning calories. What are your thoughts on this?

Post workout it is good to have some kind of protein with a carb. As you exercise your body burns through glucose which causes it to drop a bit. The carb boosts it back up and the protein helps to stabalize (sp) release of sugar into the system and give the body needed protein for the recovery of muscle damage caused by working out.0
