I keep seeing this as recommended reading in various posts on the message boards so I finally read it. It is terrific and should be mandatory reading for those starting off in MFP. Very good advice and well written.

Great read. I can relate to the "stop guessing." I was so bad at "oh that looks about right" so one day when I was going through a box my son left at my house, I found his food scale and decided to put it to use. Boy did things change! I also started counting out a serving size of popcorn chips and spoon size shredded wheat. It really does make a huge difference.0
