I've had it too, it tends to happen a few times a month and for me it usually happens after I eat too much hamburger meat. I do not know what can be done to fix it brushing never helps, I think I just need to pull back on the hamburger and it happens even with grass feed beef.

If you are eating very low carb consistently, you may be in ketosis. It can cause a feeling in the mouth that has been described as oily or greasy. I have not experienced it but have read about it in many places. I don't know if it will help but parsley is an exceptional breath freshener and mouth cleanser. You want to chew a few sprigs of fresh parsley. Lime and lemon juice may also help alleviate the oily feeling. Cloves and cardamom are great for cleansing your mouth as well and have a bit of astringency so may help alleviate the oily feeling. Soak a few cloves and a cracked cardamom pod or two in hot water to make a tea. You could add a few fennel seeds too, also good for your teeth and digestion. Good luck!

I have much experience with eating a high fat diet and being in ketosis. I have never experienced what you are describing. I have experienced uncomfortable mouth-feel from foods that I am intolerant too but not from fat. As you keep a food journal and notes, you should be able to figure it out eventually.
