Well, I may as well weigh in AND pay my taxes, and get all the unpleasantness over with at once!!
SW: 156
Last time: 136 (?)
TW: 137
On the positive side, I got a good re-start yesterday, and am on track today as well. One day at a time for this girl! Looking forward to all of your posts. Lois, it looks like you lost weight and are doing your hiking!

Jiminy Christmas! Has it been that long since I weighed in? I looked back on the threads to find my last posted weight, and didn't see it. So I'll just start fresh by saying that:
SW: 155
TW: 144.8
Thus, I'm still stuck in that 143-145 hole. Work has been eating me alive, and as I mentioned on the previous post, I had a foot issue last week. But if this is a fresh week, I am happy to report that I walked tonight, and once I have some dinner, and I am going to come back upstairs and try to get my new BodyMedia unit set up. I've had it two weeks, and haven't done that yet. Does that give you an idea of how little free time I've had?
I have missed you all, though, and hope we can keep the thread moving as it keeps me motivated.0 -
Sometimes telling on myself is the best and only thing I can do. I hate change. I hate change so bad that when I saw that my replacement BodyMedia unit doesn't look like my old one (different color, and for some reason looks a little cheaper, if that possible for a little plastic piece) I felt the oh--no feeling setting in. Honestly, I know it doesn't get more ridiculous than this. But anyway, I got the new unit going this morning, and hopefully, it will count steps accurately.
A friend who is a chef recently bought a Fitbit and was surprised to learn that he walks 6 to 7 miles a day on his job! I walk only a few hundred steps a day on my job, and that's just going to the bathroom or downstairs to grab something to eat. That's why I have to be vigilant to walk in the evening. On weekends, just walking around the house, I'll hit 2000 steps a day if I also take a short walk. Through the week, I can walk for an hour after work and still hit only 7000 steps.
Hopefully, I can soon get outside again before work. I did that Monday, but yesterday the weather turned, and when I headed to the mall last night it was pouring sleet. We went from almost 80 degrees on Sunday to snow and sleet again last night. Whew. The winter that never ends.0 -

Well Ladies..it's late and I'm still at the office getting ready to head out. I started this thread at 8 this morning and have not had a chance to get back to it...just remembered as I was logging off my system. Hope everyone is doing well.
We all have a challenging weekend ahead of us and I know I don't have a great game plan, so I'm hoping to find one between now and Sunday morning. Open to ideas/suggestions.. Brain is fried.
TTFN
(copied from other thread i had started, but failed to check the board to see that Sheesh had one going as well). Rough Tuesday. Sheesh - Until I received a note from you cheering the reduction, all morning I had not realized I had survived a reduction. Woo Hoo!!! Now, hoping to maintain with the food weekend we have coming up.
Sarah - glad to see you up and running...still hoping you'll come to the fitbit side.)

Monday morning post Easter . . . just checking in quickly to see how everyone is doing. Will weigh in tomorrow.
I'm proud as punch to report I had a great week with daily (varied) workouts, logging food, drinking 8 glasses of water minimum, and being in calorie deficit. (My goal was to have a deficit of at least 250 daily, which I did!) I did indulge in some jelly beans and chocolate eggs, but I logged them and was still in deficit. I'm hoping all the diligence will show tomorrow on the scale!
Sarah, I feel for you and your work schedule! Please don't hate me because I'm retired from my job, my friend. I've decided to think of my workouts, food prep and logging as a part-time job. I have to do it. My family, home and cabin are physically demanding, and I want to stay in shape and healthy as best I can. But, my oh my, I don't miss my job. (Except for the money:laugh: ) I hope you can figure out a way to take the time for yourself. I remember going to the gym (I was a member of when I was working) in the dark, sitting in the car and thinking "I just can't go in there!". So, I devised a strategy of thinking "I'll just go in, and if I'm too tired I give myself permission to leave." Then, I would say "I'll just get into my gym clothes." Then, "I'll just walk for 20 minutes on the treadmill." Usually, I ended up getting a good workout. Eating dinner at 9 pm. :ohwell:
Lois, you inspired me to try meal prep, which is working great! I had never tried putting individual meals measured out into containers before ready to zap and eat, but it worked great last week. I'm doing it again this week. It is so great to have a meal ready fast when you're really hungry. Keeps me from popping a cookie or chip (hubby always has around) into my mouth!0
