^today's threadstarter for Marla and her Nia classes. :-)
Marla, those roses sound beautiful!!
Laura, hope you are feeling better and have gotten well rested. Rest as much as you need, better that than to get sick and be forced down.
Donna, congrats to you and Fells! Also congrats on the jeans falling off! Might have been inconvenient, but it must feel good to see your size going down. Sounds like you are hitting my dream size. Also, from my experience (and depending on how you are built), you can sometimes roll the waistband down one or two times and the jeans will stay put...it just looks weird, unless you are wearing a shirt to cover it.
Well, rainy day and everybody at home still today for the holiday, so it's going to be a rest day today. I'm spending a little time trying to figure out how I am going to change my workout now. It's time to make a change and I think I might incorporate less gym and more walking. First, because of the nice weather, second because walking is a good fat-burner (GOTTA lose some fat!), and third because I think my body needs to more regularly cover that 10mi I want to run, just to acclimate my joints and tendons and ligaments, etc.
Well, i hope everyone else is having a good one today !0 -
I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!
I was at my brother's for the weekend so didn't get much for workouts in, but I did watch what I ate. I was slightly over on Friday, mostly due to some drinks, and was over a bit on Saturday also since that's when we had our big meal. We had taken our dog along so I took him for a walk on Friday evening, and a longer faster walk on Saturday afternoon. We're heading to the in-laws for supper tonight so I won't get a work out in tonight, but I'll find out tonight if I can borrow their weight bench! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!0 -
Donna you're shrinking! My size 8 jeans were too tight a few weeks ago and now fit perfectly. I think I'd like to drop one more size, then I'll be done.
Marla the roses sound amazing!
Diana sounds like you've been busy!
Sherry long walks are great for fat loss. When it's nice outside the last thing I want to do is go to the gym. Last summer I did a lot of trail hikes on the weekend instead of doing cardio cross-training at the gym, and if the snow ever melts I'd like to do that again this year.
My run yesterday was horrible. By the end of the day I did run 9 miles, but it took two tries and there was a very long (2+ mile) walk back to my car after the first 5 miles. The second run to get in the final 4 miles was horribly, horribly slow. At least it was a beautiful day (upper 60's and sunny) and I ended up spending many hours outside enjoying it. I walked 28051 steps & the equivalent of 58 floors, so my legs are sore & tired today but not undeservedly so.
Nice again today so I walked outside with a friend at lunch and have a session scheduled with Jason after work. Hoping we don't do legs!0 -
Total body, and it was an awesome workout.0

Glad that the workout went well, Laura.
Today I wasn't able to get much walking in during the day itself, but tonight Fells and I got in a 4 mile run and I followed it by 20 minutes of body conditioning work. The run felt really easy. It's so nice when that happens!0 -
Great about the weight Laura, I think I took it!
I have been out of control with food lately, stuffing in emotions again.
I made counseling appt to see how to deal with things out of control.
My daughter called today, one going through messy divorce and she was flipping out. Everything she said made me want to slice and dice everyone in her household!!!
I felt like mamma bear protecting her cub...I am leaving to go see her soon but I need to be calmer when I do or it won't help. And the fat on me isn't helping anyone!
Did some cleaning today, cleaned out car for road trip. I leave alone in a week.0 -
Marla, good for you getting an appt. I think I would benefit from a therapist--someone to unload on...I'm pretty sure I'd get my money's worth and chew her ear off! haha! Anyway, I really hope you can work through it and find another outlet besides food--I know where you're coming from and it ain't easy.0
