Dis real good at the potluck! Until dessert. I should have had none. But I started out small, and kept is small, but I went and had one more peice. Now I am miserable and tired. Is that from the carbs? Why is it so hard to make yourself do what you should? I just want to sleep.

Can't say about the tiredness, but much of the miserable feeling is from you beating yourself up about the second piece of dessert. STOP IT! We have to learn to live and eat in the real world and that will include the occasional indulgence. All we can do is learn from it (Did something specific trigger it? Did you just really crave that sweet?), log it, and go on to tomorrow.

Congrats on doing really well with the meal portion of the potluck! You did great.

earinabby is right: you made healthy choices at the potluck overall kamaperry and that's progress. You might be tired because your blood sugar level is higher, and as earinabby said this is a learning experience. You're right that changing habits is difficult, but take it one step at a time and you'll see the changes you want. ~Lynn /Glucerna

Thanks, guys, I feel much better this morning. Well the cake was this awesome, chocolate and yellow gluten free cake and it was decorated so cute for Easter, and I just wanted it. It was very good too. I guess I got mad for a second, and wanted to be like everyone else.

It's perfectly normal to be unhappy and angry when faced with great-looking desserts. Going forward, think about how you want to handle potlucks and desserts, and what is going to be best for you overall. ~Lynn /Glucerna

So I acknowledge I want something sweet. So I went to Walgreens and they had these bars for sale, called ExtendBars, made especially for diabetics so I bought some :)

It's great that you're looking for ways to satisfy a desire for something sweet with a food that won't raise your blood sugar levels. The Extend bars contain resistant starch, a type of fiber that digests slowly and often helps keep blood sugars in a more even range. Let us know how they work for you. ~Lynn /Glucerna

I sure will. I had one for a snack yesterday afternoon, wasn't too bad and actually filling!
