I think this is something every diabetic should see. Enjoy! And happy Easter. Wonderful time for new beginnings.

What an interesting, informative and eye opening lecture he presents exceedingly well. Thanks for sharing this comprehensive video as presented. I enjoyed viewing your share to the point of re-thinking my approach to managing my T2 condition through a LC/HF regimen.
Wishing you a blessed happy Easter celebration too my friend.0 -
It's slowly becoming more and more common for medical professionals to come to the conclusion that LCHF works great for diabetes, whether Type I or Type II.
It's done wonders for mine. The best thing most Type I's experience is the cessation of hypo's.0 -

This is an even better one, and it's shorter and explains more of the science behind it. He coins a term I had never heard which explains not only diabetes types I, 1.5, and 2, but non-diabetics with metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance. He calls them, and us, carbohydrate intolerant. It explains so much, even people who don't have diabetes.

Very informative for those starting out dealing with idiot doctors. I was lucky to get a doctor with Type 1, so he knew what to do. Everytime I hear someone is on insulin, I just avoid conversing with them.0

I am going to get the Bernstein book and try to understand this in a little more depth. Thanks for posting this video.0

At the beginning of my diabetes journey, I stumbled upon a site with a host of people from all around the world who pointed me to Bernstein's book, bloodsugar101. I was lucky. Very lucky, although I struggled back and forth for many months. During this time I researched all that I could on the subject, and have delved even deeper, recently, into my daughter's medical school texts. The science is not just sound, it is life-saving. And despite all of the technicalities, it is quite simple. We are carbohydrate intolerant. Carbohydrates are not necessary to life. The body provides the small amount of glucose required for brain function through other means. One can receive the required nutrients quite easily through other foods.
It's been a year now that I have been on LCHF and I love it, although I have had to unlearn everything I had previously been taught. It was quite an ordeal that first year. Addictions are hard to break.
I've often wondered why it is that most diabetics fail to see such a simple truth. Their system is broken, as is mine. Bypass the system. But food is powerful. Very. And, it is deeply rooted in who we are, and what we have sadly become.. diabetic.
I used to become frustrated with my people (my brothers and sisters in diabetes), but no more. I feel such mercy, both for myself and for those who struggle so bravely through the maze and course of our condition. We choose the path that seems best to us and we stand by each other in our decisions, come what may. It's the definition of family, I guess.
The above is one of a hundreds of videos, papers, studies. Sadly, its knowledge is slow to reach the states, although more and more people are catching on now. And it bodes well for the future. My hope is that this knowledge will render diabetes obsolete for our posterity. It certainly has the power to do so. This is great news.0 -
