Tips in multi-tasking to keep my reading addiction alive.

Hey everybody! What tips do you have to get your 'to-do' list done, while keeping our reading addiction alive?

I am trying to reduce my personal reading to study. (YUK! A necessary evil, but there it is.) One of the things I have been trying to do is read them vicariously through my sister who can read 3-5 novels a day. (She is a Super-Reader to my rescue!) She tells me all about the book in about 30 min, and I feel my addiction relieved, even if only for a while. But there has to be other ways to get my 'fix'. ;-)

Any other tips on how I could keep my addiction alive?

I use Moonreader pro (android app) to read my books to me. I use Calibre (free downloadable program) to convert my books to epub format, which is what Moonreader uses.

As long as you are doing mindless tasks you can have your books read to you while you go about boring chores (driving, running, biking, laundry, dishes, cooking).

If I have to concentrate I turn it off.

My family is big on Kindles. I will have to get me one and try that! Thank you!

I have this ritual that I like to do when I work on my to-do list (which is huge lol)
But nearly every night I do something called a B.B.B. or an S.S.S. which stands for: Bath, Book, Bed or Shower, Story, Slumber - that way I am making sure I am getting the book read when I can. It is relaxing and a good way to unwind before you pass out for sleep, or even a nap! I always make sure to read at least two chapters, no shorter (unless it is a huge book like Game of Thrones where it is like 30 minutes for one chapter lol - but when it comes to that and it is on my kindle I try to do at least 2% on those HUGE books)

I'm in the same boat. My units this semester are BORING! Data analysis and Quality Assurance. Really not motivating when I prefer to do the actual science work not the data or QA.

I set myself an hour to read per day. That means I don't go overboard in reading (I set a timer) so I have to do study and my other house duties. Although my children were away this week as its school holidays so I ended up reading 2.5 books haha. And I did no study! So that one didn't work in my favour

I have done this too! I normally do like two hours of study/work, one hour of free time, two hours of study/work, one hour of free time

This is a GREAT habit! (Especially for the book addict.) I will be implementing this immediately!

This is a good idea because I seem to be lenient with myself. Bad day? I need to read. Stress from exam? The solution is to read. Chores done and I finally have me time? Favorite pass time! Time to read! HAHAHA. A timer would help me... curb my appetite! LOL
