Weight loss stall - week 6

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum seeking advice. I started Paleo about 6 weeks ago. I lost 10 pounds in the first month which was great! I haven't lost any weight the last week or so. I only eat fruits before 2:00pm and rarely eat nuts. Mostly I eat veggies and protein. Anyone else experience this? Any tips to kick the weight loss back into gear? Thanks! :)

  • You've lost a little over 1 1/2 lbs a week and that's really good.

Some times after a big drop your body will hold steady for a bit and then it'll start dropping again. This may take a week or two or three for the scale to get moving again.

Also you might be losing inches as apposed to scale weight. Have you measured yourself??

If you unlock your food diary we can see if there's some thing that stands out.

Based on available information I am assuming your eating a pound of nuts "rarely",
Your veggies are Avocados which you eat by the crate 3 times a day
your protein consumed each day is a side of beef.
10 banana's even before noon is 1200 cal and 200 carbs and sugars which I can't remember.....

Sarcasm aside, its hard to offer help and advice with your diary closed, and a very vague description of what you eat. Do you log? Just wanted you to know I tried. Unless you have some medical issues if you eat a reasonable calories deficit you should lose weight.
  • Oh, I didn't realize there was a food diary section. I'll start tracking there :). Thanks. Hopefully things will pick up again like you said :)
  • I will start tracking my food, but I thought the whole premise with Paleo was that calorie tracking was not necessary. As long as you ate Paleo foods then you could eat freely. Obviously I am not stuffing my face but I think that goes without saying.

I think another thing to look at is the amount already lost is a great loss :)
Most people are doing this to resolve health issues and the weight loss is a bonus side effect from eating clean, whole foods.
I find I do better when I track honestly and follow the guidelines to a tee but that's just me.
Some people can go at it and just lose without issue.
Nuts, dairy, too much protein.too low fat,too high carbs, all can be an issue depending on the person.
Relax and enjoy your paleo journey. The main thing is,you will feel great!
