I like this program but it will end in a few months (I started stage 3 and do 2-3 times a week).
My thoughts are to repeat the book at higher weights OR do super charged OR switch to strong lifts
What will you do? Or have done? Or think is a good idea and why?

Good question - I'm wondering the same thing myself. I'm currently on Stage 6.
I bought both Supercharged and 4Life but I'm also toying with the idea of repeating but leaving out 2&3.0 -
I'm about to start stage 7 - I think after I may go to Stronglifts....though I lift at home and I'm worried that I will run out of weight plates really fast and need to buy some more lol
Honestly, I'll just be glad to not have to do any planks or prone cobras or stupid body weight painful-matrixes again lol0 -
Wow your stats are incredible!0

I just finished stage 5, but I am not really feeling like this program is the best use of my time anymore. I am thinking of switching to stronglifts 5X5. It has been recommended to me by several of my MFP friends.0

I thought I was gonna do 5x5 as I read about it from someone very inspiring on the forums but her blog mentioned this book and I just got into it. I am convinced 5x5 is good and I am leaning towards it, but wondering if it gets boring at some point?
On a similar note- at some point we're supposed to be happy with the results and just maintain them, right? And then, do you just carry on with the same weights you finished with?0 -
I think it depends on what your goals are. I chose Supercharged because it's very well rounded- I needed something that I could improve my strength while also getting a great burn to continue helping with fat loss. When I finished Supercharged (I'm doing it a second time now), I was much stronger, more flexible, overall more fit(could sprint faster, longer). I also love doing a variety of exercises in each category. It keeps me interested.
If your main goal is simply strength and preserving muscle, do 5X5. It's a solid program.
Depending on what level you are eating at(deficit, maintenance, or surplus) you should continue to see increases in strength. You won't at a deficit, but you should otherwise.0 -
Barbell - are there similar lifts in Supercharged to For Women? Are there planks and cobras? I'd really like a break from those things for a while lol0

You pick your own exercises from a list in Supercharged- another reason I like it. There's so many core exercises to chose from.0

My goal was to tone my thighs and abs.
I also fantasize about losing 10lbs... Not sure it will happen. Will be happy with losing 2-4 lbs at this point.
I now eat at a moderate deficit (aim for 1540) and on workout days I aim for 1800. I typically eat more on those days because I need a lot of food before I lift. If I go even a little hungry I can't push myself.
Should I eat more?
I am trying to figure a happy balance between building strength and losing weight.0 -
With only 10lbs max to lose, I would definitely keep a very slight deficit- like 200 cals under maintenance. I like the Scooby calculator for figuring out cals(http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/). It's the closest one for me (I have a BodyMedia). Eating more is very dependent upon your overall activity level and amount of muscle you carry. If you have a desk job and aren't doing much more than lifting, it would be easy to over estimate how much you need. If you have an active job or tend to be busy on your feet all day, you may find you need to eat more.
The best way to tell if I'm eating enough is energy levels, rate of scale loss, and my workout performance. It can be tricky to find that perfect balance.0 -
When I finished NRLFW, I started on the New Rules of Lifting Supercharged. I like New Rules because it's so flexible, and I belong to a pretty ****ty gym that doesn't have any barbells. I'm planning on switching gyms as soon as the ones I have my eyes on have some kind of joining special, at thich point I'm thinking about doing Strong Lifts 5x5.
Until then, Supercharched is great because if you HATE one particular exercise, or if you feel like you get nothing out of it (I'm looking at you, prone cobras) you can choose a different one.0
