Great inspirational message today Sherry! Hope you're hanging in there with your single parent duties today.

Ines whether it was 4K or 5K, you had a nice brisk walk! I was talking to a lady one day (my niece's friend's mom) about running together sometime. Right now I'm running further than she is, but it turns out she walks almost as fast as I run on my longer runs, so we were joking we could head out together and I could run and she could walk. She's walking just over 13 minute miles (which would be about 37 minutes for a 5K). But she didn't know how many miles she could sustain that pace.

I was scheduled to walk with my niece today but when I woke up i decided that was a bad idea. My feet, knees & legs in general are pretty sore from my run yesterday so going out for a long walk on pavement seems like a really bad idea. I pulled out my phone and had a text from her cancelling on me because she's got a sick kid today. So I'll go to the gym and do my usual low or no-impact cardio cross-train (rowing machine, elliptical, bike). Jason wants me to do some low back exercises so I was going to go to the gym for that anyway, and I can spend some time on the foam roller while I'm there giving some TLC to my legs.

Donna didn't think she'd be on the forums while she's traveling, but I saw on her news feed yesterday that she got a run in so she's getting her workouts in.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

Hey everybody! Well, my lazy streak continues--and it's gotten worse! Haven't even left the house today. It's elections here today and I'd rather not get out in all that. There'll be more elections next Sunday too. I have started on the pile of laundry and I actually cooked dinner today, so there was that; but mainly I have napped all day!!! It turns out that I've gotten more sleep in the last 2 days than in a long time--and it feels GREAT. Sometimes I forget what it even feels like to be well-rested. The kids are being great and that's made it easy for me to nap and relax. I just wish I could find some balance. It seems when DH is here, I workout and move around lots, but get very little sleep; and when he's gone I get very little "exercise", but enough sleep. Of course maybe it's just due to the weekend and it'll be different when I'm making all the school and lesson drop-off/pick-up. Tonight, hoping to get the kids to bed early and do the same barbell stuff I did Fri (it's nice and simple).

Hey all! I had a lazy Sunday as well. Apart from doing some laundry, I spent the day sleeping until noon and then reading. Ate alright and will maybe do some yoga before going to bed later if I feel like it.

Laura, hope your legs are feeling better now! My boyfriend actually suggested to me once that I could walk and he runs but since he runs considerably faster than I walk, he'd have to run in circles around me to make that work  How is your half-marathon training going? Do you have a particular time goal? I'm really impressed at that! My longest walking trail is around 10.5 km so again half of a half-marathon and I'm usually already much too lazy for even that.

Have a wonderful Sunday evening everyone!

Well, I spoke too soon. Kids completely wore me out the last 2 hours and I'm still waiting for that precious moment when lil girl finally falls asleep. It's the psychological warfare that's used at bedtime that really gets me. My body is not tired, but my mind & spirit are completely done. I miss my daily escapes to the gym and the road! Anyway, that barbell's gonna hafta lift itself tonight, because I just can't. sigh. Gonna try to do things differently tomorrow.

Well crud, Sherry. One of my friends has the nighttime battle with her little girl every night about bedtime too. I remember my mom trying to get me to fall asleep when I was pretty little - I would go to bed but just couldn't get to sleep. She'd sit there and stroke my arm until I nodded off. Not sure why that's such a vivid childhood memory but that one sticks with me. I would have been 2 because we moved out of that house right before my 3rd birthday. Elections must be quite an event there?

Ines one of my friends who currently doesn't run keeps hinting she'd like to come running with me. While I'm training for my half I don't think that would work because I'm on a structured training schedule, but once it's done I'll see if she was serious. I would have to be running circles around her! Otherwise I've got a few workouts that I do at the track so I could tell her to meet me there and we could each do our own thing at the same time at least in the same vicinity. My training is gone fine. I'm pretty much ready to be done with the race so I can just go back to running for fun. I didn't realize how draining it would be, or how much time it would take up. This is my first half marathon so my primary goal is just to finish, but I'd like to finish in 3 hours or less. It took me 2:50 to run 13 miles a few weeks ago but that was pausing my timer when I stopped to drink or take in a gel, and I don't think I can talk them into pausing the timer for me on race day. Still I didn't spend more than 10 minutes paused so hopefully 3 hours is realistic. Yesterday I practiced running while I took in my gels & drank - also I was curious how long I could run without stopping at all. I made it for just over 8 miles. Stopped at 8 for a quick stretch & to switch my water bottles (was borrowing a fuel belt from a friend that has 2 small bottles in front & 2 small bottles in back), at 10 miles just because I had to catch my breath and stretch again, and at 11.2 miles because that's when I got back to my car and I had run out of fluids. Drank a lot those last few miles! I did pause for several minutes there before bullying myself back on the trail to finish my 12th mile. Race day I'll use the water & Powerade provided by the race so I won't have to haul it with me as I run.

I ended up going out for brunch with my cousin. There's a new restaurant in town that her friend recently opened so I wanted to check it out. I had a grilled pesto & turkey sandwich that was really good. Definitely need to get to the gym today though to work that off! I made a quick stop at the grocery store on the way home and then took a nap too. Should probably go to the gym soon before I lose all ambition to do so.
