Just a quick good morning everyone!
Sherry, hopefully you'll have an easier time with your kids today.
I just finished my workout for today and decided I'm gonna have to start eating something before HIIT routines at least. Just having a coffee and maybe some orange juice worked really well for quite a while now, especially since I have to get it done almost right after I get up before I go to uni. Don't really know yet how I'm gonna solve that since I can't workout right after having eaten something. But today was bad, my body was definitely not fuelled enough for this (http://www.fitnessblender.com/v/workout-detail/Berserker-HIIT-Workout-Challenge-Crazy-Intense-Home-Workout/ge/). I guess my allergy (spring pollens) doesn't help either but still. Need to figure out a way to fuel my body properly.0 -
Well, kids are being adorable and easy again...for now. I'll be taking son to tutor for a review today and will need to do grocery shopping. If I can get lil girl to cooperate, I will try to do some exercise at home while son is at the tutor because I don't think that waiting til they go to bed is going to work, since I'll just be too wiped out by then. Wow, I really really miss the freedom to go to the gym or run.
Ines, I remember I had the same problem when I was doing videos in the morning. I tried a banana, or a piece of sliced bread with a little butter & jam plus half a cup of coffee. But either way, I had to let my stomach settle for a few minutes before I could begin. It really messes up the timing of a morning workout, but I found that my workouts were not very effective when I wasn't fueled in some way. Maybe now I would try a milk & whey shake, but I wasn't using them back then. Good luck getting that sorted out.0 -
good Morning!
Had a good weenend, the weather was good and the food was "pretty good". lol I did an 8Km run on Saturday which made me really happy. i have been running a lot of 6K's but haven't managed anything more than that in awhile. So I guess that was the highlight of my weekend and really motivated me. This past weekend there was a race in the near area that I have done before, I did the half-marathon there once. Anyway, lots of people I know did it, and it really gave me the itch to race. I really want to up my mileage. Today is raining so I won't be running. We had to order a part for our treadmill, wish it would hurry and come. Anyway...
Have any of you done the Turbofire workouts? I think I am going to try one of the HIIT ones today. Kind of excited to do something new.
Ines - welcome!! I guess I haven't posted through the weekend so this is my late greetingI am the same way, I have to eat something before a workout. But, my morning workouts are not "too" early so it usually works out that I can eat my breakfast.
sherry - you must have been needing that extra sleep, I guess you should just take it when you can! lol Now you'll be good and rested for exercise...hehe
Laura - the grilled sandwich sounded delicious. Did you make it to the gym? Awesome run on the weekend!! 12 miles...wow. You motivate me so much!
Marla - hope you are having a nice long weekend!
One other thing I did this weekend, got lots of gardening done. Yay, it SO needed it. And I am not done, but I really got a good go on it. I will get some mulch once the weeding is done.0 -
Ines I'm having the same issue with running in the morning before work and what I've settle on is energy chews of some kind (like half a packet of Powergel energy chews). It's a little more expensive than eating a banana (and the banana would do the same thing) but sometimes bananas don't always settle well for me on an empty stomach. As it is I have to be out on the road so early to fit a run in before work that I don't want to get up any earlier than I already am in order to eat & have time for it to digest.
My allergies are totally kicking my butt today too.
Maureen I haven't done TurboFire but a friend of mine went all the way through the initial program and started the Advanced program before she lost her mojo and quit working out. She went on a couple of work trips back-to-back and just stopped working out. She got in really good shape from them though!
I had a really good gym workout last night and had the place to myself for at least half an hour. Apparently nobody wants to be inside at the gym on a Sunday afternoon when it's 70 degrees outside.I walked with a friend over lunch today and have a session with Jason after work tonight.

Well, today didn't go according to plan (does it ever?). By the time I did the shopping and put away the groceries, I had about half an hour before turning right around and going back to pick-up son (in the rain). But at least I wasn't downright lazy today. I got lots done, so much so that I didn't even eat, like anything, until 6:30 tonight! ugh! Lil girl has caught cold again (always seems to happen when DH is away; I think it's from all the busrides, germs being passed), so I carried her just about everywhere today (even when hauling the groceries back up the hill from the neighborhood--her 19kg on one arm, & few kg of groceries cutting off my circulation of the other, lol), plus got lots of routine housework done while dinner was in the oven. So, even though I didn't get a workout, at least I wasn't a slug today.
Maureen, I've never done TurboFire, but it is tempting when you see all the success stories floating around the web. If you do it, keep us posted. Race training would also be very motivating, along with gardening (how nice! what I'd give for a small back garden, but in this city, those are not easy to come by).
Laura, having the gym to yourself!! Wow! That would be unheard of at my gym, but I miss my little crowded gym so much that I'd be happy for just an hour even if it was during the time of the packs of teenage boys and when the aerobics class lets out! lol! Hope you got to enjoy some of that 70degree weather as well.
Well, no plans tomorrow--I'm not foolish enough to "plan" again. I will be very active again, dragging my sick lil girl to son's school drop-off, and pick-up, and tutor drop-off and pick-up, so I may not have any energy left for a workout. (yawn) good night, read y'all tomorrow. :yawn:0 -
Well the turbo Fire HIIT workout was good, definitely got my heart rate up there. I am not actually doing the program, I'm just going to try some of the workouts on non-running days. A change from the Jillian Michaels ones.0
