The next "Trim Taut and Terrific Aussies" 12 WEEK CHALLENGE will kick off on Monday 28 July 2014 - in conjunction with the Max and Maxine's Challenge (which I will be entering).

Now, you don't have to enter the Max/Maxine's Challenge to do the TTTA Challenge - but I thought it would be good timing to run them in conjunction with one another. Here is the link if you would like more information:

http://www.maxineschallenge.com.au/2014/maxines/ - for the ladies - you can pre-register and they send you an email every now and again. I did the challenge last year (kind of) so please ask if you would like any information.

http://www.maxchallenge.com.au/maxs/ - for the fellas!

I thought I would post this now, so that anyone thinking about it has time to work out what to do for the next 10 weeks. I'm going to be concentrating on getting my hormones and sleep back into gear in May/June and will then hopefully be in good condition by July to start the challenge - during which my personal aim will be to lean out.

The challenge is based on body building principles, and they provide a nutrition and training plan. It starts with 3 weight training sessions per week and builds to four sessions a week. Depends on your current level of fitness what you do - I didn't follow their plan last year as I already had my own programme and I didn't follow the diet either, but I might this year to get better results. Something to think about

Anyway - give it some thought.

In the meantime, we still have the May Abs Challenge http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1270747-30-day-abs-challenge-starts-1-may going, will be doing ARMS Challenge in June and Squats in July prior to the kickoff of the Maxine's Challenge on 28 July.

And if you want to keep a PERSONAL PROGRESS THREAD in the group, please feel free to do so. It's great to see everyone keeping on top of their fitness!!

That's a really good date for me to start a new challenge because I get back from the US on the Thursday before it starts. Definitely going to think about Maxine's

Thanks for the link. I might have a go at it this year. It will come at a good time after three months at/above maintenance I'll probably be keen to cut down.

    Great news Gemma and Ray!!

They have a blog at Max/Maxines, but we can set up a thread here for our personal progress, or just have a thread like last time. Maybe split it into Weeks 1-4, 5-8 and 9-12 (which is how the challenge works).

I've got last years training and nutrition if you want to see it - well, the Maxines one anyway, I don't have the mens programme. I do have the mens programme from 2012 though.

Oh and it is FREE - so I think everyone should sign up anyway and give it a shot.

So I'm guessing they don't charge for entry but they 'strongly advise' you to use their supps etc.

I wouldn't mind having a look at the men's program if you are happy to share. I know it's a couple of years old but I don't think they'd have changed anything too radically since then.

I'd love to check out the training and nutrition. If we make finals I'll still have footy going for up to three weeks and haven't really decided what my plan is for the off season

New message received from the Maxine's Shape Up team today about goals. They are sending out an email a week between now and the challenge with tips and motivational bits and pieces, so if you are interested, pre-register (there is no commitment and it's free) and see if it might be what you need to get moving!

Fantastic Lou!!! So glad to have another friend along for the ride!

Did you watch the show last night on the 2013 Top 10 women? It was so good - I really related to what they all said before they started. It's repeating again on Free to Air channel 74 - TV4ME in Sydney on Thursday and Saturday at 4:30pm, or you can watch it on YouTube. And next week they are showing us the Top 10 men for 2013, should be good!!

2 weeks until Registration - 4 weeks until Challenge starts!

I'm on track to hit the challenge. Apart from my flu I've been sticking with my "restorative overhaul" plan (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/SkimFlatWhite68/view/time-for-a-restorative-overhaul-658201) and I'm feeling much more like my old self than the tired and sickly version I have been this year.

I've also got Skims Garage Gym now in operation and equipped to do my own programming and training. Have put my gym membership on hold and will look at whether or not I cancel it altogether when I'm in a routine.

Looking forward to a new challenge!!

    Hi all,

Just thought I'd pass on some info.

    Ordered some Maxine products online.

Got 2x 1.25kg protein and a box of the cookie & cream bars for $135. Also received a free shaker, couple of mags, DVD about the challenge and a sample of another protein powder. So overall don't think that was too bad.

The company is Supplement Mart based in WA if anyone is interested. Ordered it on the weekend and received the delivery today.

Tried a bar today and were really nice.

Hope you are all keeping well.

    ????

    Good stuff Lou!!

What flavour Maxine's Burn did you get? I like the Vanilla but also tried the cafe latte and didn't like it much, was a bit washy washy. Last year I got the training journal but this year I'm just going to use my book - I have a diary that I write all my workouts in and I'm happy with the way I use it.

    Registrations are next week!

I have to say the couple of Max's bars that I have tried have been some of the best tasting protein bars I've had. Might have to pick some up for during the challenge.

I had the talk with my wife about doing this challenge, and she's on board with it. I know it's my call whether I do it or not, but having the support of those around you makes it a whole lot easier. We have a few things going on during the challenge period, including moving into our new home in 4-5 weeks (I see that as extra cardio :), my birthday, a planned short holiday with friends and a couple of other things, but nothing that's a showstopper.

After about three months of a slight surplus I'm ready for a cut, and have a good amount of weight to shift. I'm going to push hard in this challenge, and my goal will be to lose a total of 10kgs (including water weight), so that should put me at +/- 12%bf at the end.

I honestly think anyone would have a hard time making top 10 without gifted genetics or pharmacological assistance, but I'm still keen to see just how far I can push myself. Sometimes having an additional external motivator is just the push we need.

Go Ray!!! It's not called a Challenge for nothing!!

Fortunately my birthday is on 25 July - so is the weekend before the Challenge starts but I'll be starting next week when I register and will have a weekend off for my birthday.

I got the chocolate and chocolate latte. Have only tried the latte so far and it was ok. But I always add less than the 200mls that they suggest as I find it too watery. I like to add 60g of frozen berries which is extra filling.

My biggest challenge will be that my husband will be o/s for three weeks during the challenge so want be able to get to the gym very often during that time so I think I'm going to have to be a bit inventive at home.

    No worries!!

For everyone - registrations open Monday next week 14 July. You need to dress in a 2 piece swimming cosie (or just bottoms for the men) and take a photo from head to toe holding a national paper that shows the cover (for date verification purposes). Have to upload the photo with your registration.

Challenge starts Monday 28 July, but you can start any time after you register and it gives you a head start if you are in it to get into the top 50

Thanks skim, have had a look at a couple online but if you've got any others that would be great.
