UGH!! I can't say I'm surprised. I did prepare food to get us through healthy eating during the workweek. We leave on Friday to go with our friends for fun and frolicking in the mountains for a couple of days. We will be inbibing I'm sure. I will refocus on Tuesday after the holiday week. And I will be full throttle at that time and back into Onederland to stay. I am focused, but I am also a realist that we are just going to have too many options over the weekend.
Goal for the week is to not stray with intake until the weekend. Over the weekend, to enjoy, but still be mindful of my intake.
Good luck everyone. I'll check back when I can.

Lois, I know that's frustrating for you to leave onederland. You'll get it back, I'm sure. I've found that I just don't lose weight if I'm
drinking ANY alcohol. It's not fun, but going dry is the only way to lose body fat for me. Like you, I'm aiming to maintain over the next week or so, and then hit it again hard when there's no holiday weekend or trip coming up.

Sorry to be on the lam, ladies. As I mentioned before, I was told that I had to take some leave in May or lose the days, so we took off for NYC last Sunday via the Acela train. It seemed like a good idea. We left on Sunday so we could finish planting some flowers on Saturday that we had already purchased and would also have time to do laundry and pack at our leisure rather than after a long day at work. And we decided to come home on Tuesday afternoon so we have one day at home before we had to go back to work.
Sounded good, but turned out to be absolutely too quick a trip! We didn't everything in we had hoped to do, and we were also pretty tired by the time we rolled back in.
We did get two things off the bucket list, i.e., riding the high speed train (130 mph) and seeing David Letterman. The latter was a hoot, as we're long time fans, but the ticket process really ate into our NY time. At least we were able to see one of our all-time favorite guests (Jungle Jack Hanna, the guy who brings the exotic baby animals) and we got great seats (third row).
We also had a lovely dinner in Tribeca in an old Italian restaurant on a quiet cobblestone street on Monday evening. We actually headed to a different place, but ended up there by mistake, so it was serendipity. We walked 9 miles on Monday, giving my bodymedia unit a real workout. BUT--I still lost no weight. I'm becoming very frustrated, as my deficit was more than 500 per day last week.
That frustration, however, is taking a back seat now for other concerns. On Wednesday night, I developed an ocular migraine with all the flashing lights. I've had maybe six of these scattered over the past few years, and usually they go away within an hour. This one has not yet gone away!
On Thursday, I decided I had better call my retina specialist on the off-chance that it was another small tear in my retina and not a migraine. He worked me in and confirmed that my eyes are fine. That's good news, but the darned squiggly lines and flashing lights are not going away, and it's wearing me down. This is unusual but not unheard of. So, please say a little prayer that it will resolve.
The one good thing is that the headache that accompanies this light show is not severe, so I can muster up and function, but I don't feel a lot like taking long walks or even swimming with this going on.
On a happier note, it's lovely weather here, and it's a holiday weekend. I hope you all have wonderful Memorial Day.0
