Hey, Warrior Women!

I am so glad that it's Friday & I don't have to be back in the office until Wednesday. I have a little administrative stuff to do from home today, but most of the day will be for ME!!! I'm going to see my dear friend in the city, who just had a knee replacement. She's been struggling to deal with her obesity for years and I hope I can be an encouragement to her. Then, I am going to go shopping for regular sized women's clothes! I've been putting this off, because I'm nowhere near my goal. I mostly wear leggings & dresses to work, so I don't really need work clothes. But, my casual wear is falling off and is becoming a hindrance to my exercise. I'm also going to bite the bullet and buy new bras!

So, while drinking my coffee, I see I have 12 hours & 19 minutes of exercise to go this month. This week, I have 4 hours & 44 minutes to go. Today, I intend to knock out at least 2 of those hours. Going to the city to see my friend and shopping should do that.

How's everybody else doing?

Yikes! I just wrote a book in answer to your post, Sue, and my internet connection failed! So, I'm sorry that you won't get to read my "book", but I don't have the inclination to try to rewrite it! I'm doing fine toward my goal.....just mowed the lawn for an hour and got some gardening in as well.

Is the challenge to get 24 hours of exercise in between 5/16 and 5/31? I'm a little unclear.

Hope your day in the city visiting and shopping with your friend is tons of fun!

I'm not Sue, but that's my understanding, that the period is 5/16 to 5/31.

Have a good time with your friend and shopping, Sue. I've been putting it off, but new bras at the least might be a necessity.

I got 75 minutes in this morning, because I left early (6:15) on my bike and stopped to do some weight training. I should have some time this evening before going out to eat (another challenge!) to get in 1-1.5 hours more on the bike. I need to go back and count up my hours so I will know what to aim for over the weekend.

I hope you got a chance to take a short walk with your friend. If she's distracted enough by the talking, she may not notice how far you all go.

I'm proud of you for sliding into the normal size clothing range, talk about a non-scale victory. I'll be mind boggled if I get there. I've never worn regular sized women's clothing my entire teenage and adult lives. I started ladies clothing at size 12 as a pre-teen and went up from there.

If you get anything especially cute during your shopping trip, please share the pictures.

    Good Evening, Warrior Women!

Yes, to clarify, our challenge is to exercise for 24 hours, between 5/16-5/31. My exercise goal for today was to do 2 hours. I ended up doing 3 hours & 13 minutes! I had a ball with my friend and her knee is recovering quickly. Her house is really close to my favorite thrift store in San Francisco, so I went there and scored big! They had all kinds of cute summer stuff and I'm happy to report that I did not have to shop in the big women's section. There was so much more selection!

I got 5 great casual outfits there for $20. Then, I went to Sears, which is near my house. I'd noticed recently that they have some pretty cute stuff. Well, first I went to the sports bra section, because I've been putting off buying those very necessary accessories. I met a nice young lady who advised me on the different kinds of sports bras (I think I was in my 20's, the last time I bought one). So, at Sears I scored big, too! Everything was on sale, so I got 3 more outfits and 4 sports bras for $75. Can you believe it? My 1st foray into the world of regular women's clothes only cost me $75. I mean, I'm a good shopper, but whoa! Someone was looking out for me. My budget for the whole trip was $160 and I didn't even pay 1/2 of that.

Pics will need to wait until later, Culo97. I am typing, while eating the most delicious seared ahi tuna, homemade gorgonzola potato chips, and truffle mousse chicken liver pate with wilted beet greens. Dessert will be 2 pistachio mochi! I'm like the poster child for how you can lose weight and still eat delicious food;)

Stephanie---you are rockin' it, even though it sounds like you've been working a lot! Great dedication to get up early & ride your bike to do weight training!

Susan--I'm so bummed that I won't get to read your book. Let's pretend I did and make vague references to it & laugh! You are also rockin' this challenge!

As of today, I've logged 14:54 towards our goal. Only 9 hours & 6 minutes to go!!! I'm guessing that Rachael will go way past 24 hours. I may go slightly over. What's your prediction?

Score! Good for you. Especially since the outfits are essentially transition clothes.

You'll definitely surpass your goals if you put your mind to it.
