i posed this in the main forum, but wanted to reach out to this group as well.

i was wondering if anyone out there would like to join me in a challenge to swim, bike, and run the combined distances of an Iron Man race over the month of June?

That is in total 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swimming, 112-mile (180.25 km) cycling and a 26.2 miles (42.2 km) of running.

for those that are interested, just post up as often as you'd like to update your tally. i keep track of my milage on google calendars, so i'll be posting once a week.

distances covered indoors or outdoors, or on during a race, count.

Count me in. Maybe this will actually give me some incentive to get my *kitten* in the pool.

agreed, because apparently upcoming races aren't motivation enough.

June 5: 28.5 trainer bike ride
June 6: 5 mile run, 3800 yd swim

just did my first tri of the season, and this is my grand totals

    Saturday, Sprint Triathlon, 1:14:19

    1/4 mile swim
    Time 8:07

    Tran 1 2:05

    12 mile bike
    Time 35:42

    Tran 2 1:30

    5K run
    Time 26:58

Sunday, Recovery Bike ride, 14.3 miles

    Totals
    swim- 2440 yards
    bike- 37.3 miles
    run- 11.8 miles

as you can see, i spent waaaaay too much time in transition. granted, transition was long!!! from where i was racked to where i had to run my bike out was a ways out, and then the return after dismount as well. i don't think putting on my cycling shoes in T1 and then swapping them out for sneakers in T2 took that long at all, just that getting to my rack took a while.

    Totals for last week:

    6400 swim
    107 miles bike
    18.75 run/walk

Should be done by Tuesday. I'm training for a 70.3

Also, I might have a slight addiction to the bike. Came home from one of the most beautiful state parks today and the place I wanted to be most was behind the lycra-clad cyclist.

Count me in. 2 Olympic Tri's this month (1 down, 1 to go) will cover half the mileage. Training easily covers the rest.

Race ya to the finish line? (Except, can I have an extra two hours since I'm on the west coast?)

ETA: Is Scott also in on this Tuesday race?

LOL. I have an "easy" week this week. It's testing week so I get a lot of easy workouts with one balls out in each of the disciplines.

    As of 6/10:

    Swim: 1.3

edit: needed to read more closely - inside miles count :o)
