Hi! I finally got my vivofit, but I need some help. It didn't come with any instructions. But I went to the website, downloaded the software, setup an account, and synced up and updated, etc.
But HOW do I get it to start counting steps??? I've got it on my arm and the time and everything is right, but it never counts any steps (still at zero).
Also, is it supposed to go blank sometimes (like does the screen go to sleep?). Mine has done this a couple of times and I held the button in, to get the screen reactivated, but I'd prefer it to display the time all the time, like a watch.
Would appreciate help from others.
Thanks!

Oh, I am so disappointed. I am now the proud owner of an expensive, unattractive WATCH. My husband flew to America to pick this thing up and now it doesn't even count one single step. I don't think it detects movement at all. I think that's why it keeps switching off--it thinks I'm asleep, even though I'm walking all over the place, trying to get it to register steps.
Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it without having to return it?0 -
I am so sorry to hear this - I can understand your disappointment.
I just paired my to my computer with the ant - and then it just started counting from there. Only the occasional miscount - but I am basically happy with the unit.
On the connect site (under the help tab) there is a garmin forum that may be able to assist you more.0 -
Okay, a local Garmin contact came through for me and I now have a working unit!
I've been wearing it since 1pm today and I CANNOT BELIEVE how much I move!! haha! I've yet to see the red bar and I've racked up over 24,000 steps just from 1pm to 9pm. I hope this thing is correct!0 -
Glad you were able to get a working unit but OMG ...I'm lucky if by the end of my day I get 10K steps...what are you doing to get THAT many steps in so few hours? LOL0

Well, there was a run in there. Also, just living in the city without a car. Even when you take the bus, there's just lots of walking to/from bus stop and to/from everywhere.0
