Weigh in - May 30th

I will get this started a day early since I won't be home tomorrow morning to weigh in.

I finally hit the yellow zone in the BMI chart. I can proudly say I am overweight! Now the hard work of getting to the green zone begins.

I don't know why but I managed a 2 pound loss this week. Maybe it's the amount of biking I'm doing. In any case, I'm not complaining.

    Original SW: 149
    Challenge SW: 143.3

    5/1/14: 144.1
    5/9/14: 143.2
    5/16/14: 141.7 (-1.5)
    5/23/14: 141.4 (-0.3)
    5/30/14: 140.8 (-0.6)

I really, REALLY wanted to be below 140 by the end of the month. I got close at least. 140 is my typical sticking weight. The last two times I've tried to lose weight, I get stuck at 140 for months, quit, and then gain back up to 150. I'm going to stick with it this time and push through!!

Original SW: 229 (upon joining MFP; 235 a few weeks before that)
    Challenge SW 4/4: 209.2
    Wt. 4/25: 205.2
    Wt. 5/2: 206.8
    Wt. 5/9: 204.4
    Wt. 5/18: 203.0
    Wt. 5/23: 201.6

    Wt. loss in April: 4.0
    Wt. loss in May: 3.6

    Goal for the Challenge: 185
    Goal for next week: Onederland!
A goal of 185 isn’t realistic at this point, but getting into and staying in Onederland is!
Walking 20-25 miles/week. Rejoined the gym with the financial assistance of BCBS, so I’m headed back there starting tomorrow… or tonight if it rains and I don’t walk!

Boing! Well after last's week's big loss I was doomed to give some back and I did--up two. If I were a stock I'd be stuck in a trading range. I was within one pound of my goal now I'm within three. I think I will need June to really get down to 180 in reality (as opposed to getting there on dehydration). These last pounds are just tenacious little buggers! I'm nursing a sore right hip (Iliotibial band syndrome) so my running and elliptical workouts have been cut back--this is not helping me. Ice and ibuprofen to the rescue I hope.

I'm really excited for Frayde, getting to Onederland was a big deal for me too, something about seeing the one hundred digit change is really satisfying. I'm expecting to set off some premature fireworks next week for your entry to the 100's.

Shmu is of course on a rail to his goal, never seen anyone sail so smoothly on MFP. He is earning it however, he and his new bike (was new, now very used) are logging some big burns. That's one thing I have seen consistently on MFP, those with the most success are those that focus on physical activity to get fit and keep their net calories within goal by burning lots of them. So Frayde, that new gym membership tells me you are on the success track.

Keep going everyone, Independence is around the corner!!

    SW = 167 (01/2013)
    CW = 131.0 (04/04/2014)
    UGW: 120.0 (by 12/31/2014)
    Independence Challenge GW: 124.0 (7 lbs loss = 0.54 lb/wk)

    April Weigh-ins:
    04/04 = 131.0
    04/11 = 127.0 (4.0 lb loss)
    04/18 = 128.6 (1.6 lb gain)
    04/25 = 131.4 (2.8 lb gain)
April total = 0.4 lb gain

    May Weigh-ins:
    05/02 = 130.2 (1.2 lb loss)
    05/09 = 129.4 (0.8 lb loss)
    05/16 = 129.4 (0.0 lb loss)
    05/23 = 129.4 (0.0 lb loss)
    05/30 = 129.6 (0.2 lb gain)
May total = 1.8 lb loss

Pretty much 4 weeks in a row! I think the 0.2 lb gain is from my indulgence day on Sunday. So I've found maintenance, time to re-adjust!

I'll be teaching evening classes for the month of June which will keep me away from heavy dinners and eating out. I am set to eat a clean diet with no added sugar! 10lbs. lighter, here I come!

I just noticed on my ticker, that I am exactly half way to my ultimate weight loss goal. It still seems like a long way to go, though.

Soon I'm going to have to get a few new clothes to wear. Either that or get suspenders to hold my jeans up, LOL!!! I already moved the button hole over and I am still pulling on them to stay up where they belong.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Well, I gained a pound this week. Not what I'd hoped, but am still recovering from my long travelling stint. The good news is that I have re-committed to being extremely accurate about portions sizes and calories. I can tell that I had really let that slip for a while. I am by nature an optimist, so I am happy that I am still 0.2 pounds lighter than I was when we started! I am hoping that next Friday is kinder to me...

Congratulations to everyone who is doing so well!

    Loss this week: 0 lbs.

Last Monday was my birthday, my daughter's Wednesday and my son's on Sunday, so I had a week of parties (and homemade cheesecakes, etc.) and a bad sunburn and a full schedule had me nixing the weightlifting as an excuse. Back to it this week!

I ended May with a 4.4 loss for the month. That is good, I would have hoped for more. On a victory front, I have now increased my running endurance level and jogged without stopped for 10 solid minutes the other day. For the longest time, I could push myself to run for 90 seconds and I was exhausted. So this is a major breakthrough for me and hopefully will keep me more active going forward.
