Anyone using Topamax for binge eating?

My doctor recently prescribed Topamax for BED. Anyone tried it before and with what results/side effects?

    I haven't tried it but Im planning on talking to my doctor about it, or possibly starting Prozac for my binge eating. I first mentioned my binge eating to her a couple weeks ago, she told me to make healthier food choices & keep up with exercise. I wanted to slap her!!

    Goodluck & hopefully someone will chime with results or side effects.

    Never heard of Topamax for BED. Have taken Topamax for years for migraine prevention with limited success for that, not binge prevention. It is supposed to decrease appetite, thereby supporting weight loss. However, binge eaters don't binge because they are hungry...

    I'm bipolar and take it to counteract weight gain side effects from my psych meds. I think it's working since I haven't gained a lot of weight with the meds.
