^Good one!
Change of plans for me today. Looks like a rest day, seeing as how I woke up with a tweaked back muscle and have found no relief. (I'm pretty sure it's because I carried lil girl a little differently than normal yesterday. It hurts where DH always complains the next day after he has to carry lil girl.) Today was no school, the end-of-year program of the kids is tonight. So, I also did no school pick-up, etc. It's going to be a really bad day for step-counting too, I guess. :frown:
Hoping my back will be better tomorrow so I can hit the gym. If it's not, might try to go anyway and just isolate legs.
Have a good one!0 -
sherry - I`m really hoping that your back is feeling better tomorrow. Nothing worse than a sore back. I pulled a muscle in my back a couple of summers ago and was laid up for quite awhile, it was quite bad, but was my own fault in hauling my friend up in a kayak and pulling on the rope even after she was on land! What was I trying to prove anyway, lol
Last night my strength/cardio class was pretty good, more cardio than I would have liked but it was still good. I can feel my shoulders this morning where we did some planks. Did squats and lunges and things like that as well. This morning my legs were still feeling somewhat tired but I managed to run 8Km.
Hope everyone has a great day, and I'll try to check back in awhile to see who else has posted.0 -
Jugar your online trainer program sounds cool! Looking forward to hearing how you like it moving forward.
I see my trainer tonight. Between my run & walk at lunch & Pilates after work & mowing the lawn when I got home last night, it was a busy activity day yesterday, and I'm feeling it today. Not really sore muscles, just muscle tightness. My calves in particular feel really tight, which is unusual for me. Sun is shining so hoping to get out for a walk today and hopefully that loosens things up.
Hope your back feels better soon Sherry!
Maureen my Pilates instructor keeps coming up with new versions of planking. We did 2 new ones last night in class, plus a regular plank. We also did several things that started out in downward facing dog so one of my co-workers was just mentioning how sore her shoulders are this morning from class last night.0 -
Hey everyone!
Thanks, jugar. And sounds like you got a good routine, let us know how you progress with it.
Laura, hope your walk loosened up your calves so they weren't bothering you for your trainer session. And going back to the flour again: Would you make a difference between white flour (all purpose flour then for you, I guess) and 'bread flour'? I found this bread recipe on a blog that I'd like to try but the last time I tried making bread, it was a disaster so I wanna make sure my ingredients are at least right
Sherry, take a good rest today for your back and hope it'll be fine again tomorrow. I think that's probably the worst body part to have any pain in.
Maureen, good to hear that you liked the class yesterday!
I think I preferred fitnessblender over blogilates. The latter one is also a good workout but I just like the fitnessblender guys' style better. Plus, and maybe that's just me, but I find the blogilates workouts unpredictable and some of them just don't give me the same feeling of accomplishment even if the workout was hard (does anybody understand what I'm trying to say here?) Ah well, I'll finish this week with blogilates and then I'm on vacation for two weeks. And then I can hopefully start going to the gym.0 -
Hi everyone! I'm new around here. I posted in the "Introduce yourself" thread up there. I hope it's ok for me to just jump in.
Let's see, yesterday I did a 5k ruck at lunch with 27-ish pounds in my ruck. After work, I hit the gym for a New Rules of Lifting for Women workout. I'm only in Stage 1, but I'm enjoying it so far. I feel like I'm getting stronger and leaner, but I'm not living at the gym.
Fromhereonout - hope your back starts feeling better. Between feet/ankles and backs, those are some of the worst injuries/tweaks to have to deal with.
Maureli - what strength/cardio class do you attend? I used to go to BodyPump a couple of years ago and loved it.
Laura - have fun with your trainer. I loved having a personal trainer for the time I did.0 -
Ines I don't actually make bread although my mom does and I'm pretty sure she uses a different flour for that. White flour I'd use to make cookies or a cake though.
Okay here's an article about the different types of flour. Hopefully they give enough description so you can figure out how they relate to what you can buy there:

Welcome xcal! I'm 10 days out from my first half marathon, so reading about you getting injured 2 weeks before your first one is exactly the kind of nightmare I've been having. My trainer has basically moved me into maintenance mode, just trying to keep me healthy for the race. There's a group from my gym doing Tough Mudder this year, but I'm not ready to tackle that yet!0

Hello All....I followed my heart today and went to top of Icicle Ridge trail about 3 1/2 hour hike up up up up up....yes some up!!! Steep trail with great views especially of river winding around our beautiful valley in the mountains all the way up.
I was tempted to turn back a bunch of times because it was warmer than I thought and I didn't bring enough water just one bottle. Almost to the top I met 3 ladies who had extra and let me drink what I had left then filled me a whole bottle so i could go up to top with them.
Aren't sports people great??!!
I asked a few people and no one said yes so my new motto is pick a safe trail higher trafficked and go anyway! I actually like hiking alone, its very zen and I can stop to look at the views more.
Welcome to xcaly does that stand for used to live in CA? I use to...in WA state now.0 -
Hi HealthyMarla! That sounds like an awesome hike. I wish southeast TX had more hiking available. Xcaly does mean used to live in CA. I'm in TX now, have been for longer than I lived in CA. I was born in CA though, so that's where the name came from.0
