Not sure where to post this question. Here or keto group. I love being in ketosis, but would like to have blueberries or apple w peanut almond butter. But I also like cheese, cream cheese or hard cheese. How many carbs do you find you lose weight on with paleo ? Thank for any advice !

I get confused by the idea that a ketogenic lifestyle shouldn't be done with "clean" foods (i.e. Paleo). I am ketogenic and Primal/Paleo and have been for almost 2 years. This is be best and most sustainable lifestyle for me and my health issues require it. Healthy food makes sense for ANY eating plan.

I'm ketogenic and I eat blueberries. Who said you can't have blueberries? Berries are low in sugar and can be enjoyed frequently. I'm not big on apples and nut butters (peanuts are NOT nuts so I don't eat that) but I would still eat some if I want to. I have to be careful with high sugar fruits and nut consumption but they aren't completely banned from my diet.

Dairy is a special struggle for me. If dairy is not raw, unpasteurized it is NOT a healthy food. I don't care the excuses that are made; not healthy. I eat lots of dairy, it's an addiction and it thwarts my progress. I hear so many people say "but the dairy isn't a problem for me" and I was one that used to say those words. Any food that one creates the issues, and denial, that dairy seems to do is a problem food. It doesn't mean that we can't find a way to enjoy it and still do well but I think one must be aware of things first in foremost, not in denial.

The macros for you depend on you. I aim for about 70 f, 20 p, and a max of 10 carb. I have been struggling with myself for the last 6 months but am holding steady in the mid 160s. Even though I am not losing, not gaining is a big win. So I think now my weight loss will depend on other things besides my macros. I probably need more exercise and more muscle if I want to get things going again. Not less food or fewer carbs (but I won't increase them either).

    I eat keto primal/paleo.
I eat berries as well but generally no other fruit.
I know the keto people say to eat always under 20 grams but I think it's possibly to eat higher and some do better and can stay in a keto state under 50 grams.
Dairy seems to cause me loads of problems but I never truly knew that until I did a whole 30.
I think lots of people will say they lose at different carb levels and some can eat loads of dairy and buts..others can't.
It's about finding what formula works best for you and sticking with it.

I do keto and primal. I think there is a lot of room for overlap between the two lifestyles. I do eat dairly (heavy cream, butter and cheese - I do not drink milk) and I also have blueberries if I'm craving something sweet. A handful really doesn't have many carbs. I think you should try different things for a couple weeks at a time and see how you feel and how it affects your weight loss. The only way to know, is to experiment.
