^^^ so no McDonald's Big Mac for me today? Okay....

Hi everyone! Hope everybody's having a great Thursday.

It started out cool & raining here, but it's clearing up now. I'm doing a group 5K run after work so hopefully it will be pleasant. Not supposed to get too warm, which is nice. I did this two weeks ago and it was 84F (29C). Tonight should be about 64F (18C) which should be far more pleasant. There are some big hills on this route so the cooler temps will be a blessing.

I ended up walking to the gym last night for my trainer session. The roads I use to drive there aren't suitable for walking (high traffic & no sidewalks) but there are side roads I can take. Right after my eye surgery I walked there a few times when I still wasn't comfortable driving. My step count was low and it's 2K each way so that helped! The rain we got was already moving in so I was a little worried about it, but it stayed dry long enough for me to walk home afterward.

Just a quick check-in before I go out (spontaneous date-night): I did a fitnessblender workout today for the first time in quite a while and while I picked a non-HIIT or -cardio one, I did do the few jumping movements in it. Felt fine doing it and we'll see how my ankle does tomorrow.

Hope you're all having a great day!

    That's odd, I don't remember eating a sexy beast. Haha! ;-)

Anyways, check in for yesterday. I did a 5k run during my lunch break. I skipped my hot yoga class on Monday because I was tired, so I made it up yesterday evening. Overall, a really good day yesterday.

    Enjoy your date night inesratinha!
Good luck at your group 5k Laura! Enjoy!!

Well my "back to real life" after my vacation didn't go so well. I was really feeling bad for the past two days. Missed work. Cancelled my trainer workout and haven't gotten my runs in.

I committed myself to running at least 22 miles each week (Tuesday to Monday) in June and I'm on the third day and have no miles in as yet. Plus, it's been hot and muggy all week, so tonight doesn't look fun.

Because I was sick and grumpy, I cancelled my volunteering at the nosework test on Saturday. (When I had agreed to volunteer I wasn't sure what I could do with my dogs during the test, so I told the test people that I would have to bring them, which I have done with no problem at past tests. After that, I did arrange for my regular petsitter to come by on Saturday. With this hot and muggy weather the dogs really wouldn't be happy in the car all day, even if it was open and sheltered from the sun. Then I was sick and really didn't feel like doing anything and got behind in everything. So when the person in charge of the test emailed me that my dogs couldn't come, no matter what, I told her that, then, I couldn't volunteer.) So, while Fells is in the Sunday nosework test and that will take up most of the day, I have Saturday off now. So the current plan is 4 miles tonight, 4 miles tomorrow, 8 miles on Saturday, 2.5 miles on Sunday, and 3.5 to 4 miles on Monday.

So no matter what the weather I need to run 4 miles this evening.

Sounds like some of us are struggling a bit today! I wanted to get to the gym before my first meeting of the day, but got wrapped up in emails and stuff instead, now I'm dragging my feet with a rainy day and low energy. I WILL go though!!! It is only 2:30 and I will go at 3:30. That is now written and I am committed!

I'm missing my long walks across the "mountain" in Montreal while I'm stuck here in the city for 3 days -- but it is wet and miserable after our long spell of perfect weather. At least I don't feel bad about exercising indoors on such a day, though.

    onward ho!

:glasses: Oh yes you did! Welcome xcal! Sounds like a good day.

Ines, I know what you mean about Cassey vs. FitnessBlender. FB just seems more regimented or organized or something. I always enjoyed their workouts so much. I still follow them on facebook. I have a feeling when my lil girl gets into school and I have my time to myself, I might pick their workouts back up again. I really actually ENJOY them.

Laura, I am so happy you are having nice weather (even a little rain can be a blessing). We are beginning to get a little too hot for afternoon runs (lucky though, usually the heat settles in sooner than this). But I might look into some slower running, based on keeping a low heartrate (called Maximum Aerobic Function). Idk if I can actually bring myself to run that slow, but I'm going to look into it.

Donna, sorry to hear "the real world" is messin' with ya. Vacations are hard and I think most people need a good rest afterwards (especially if the vacay is filled with commitments). Good luck with the running, but remember that goals and commitments and accountability are all good things...but the point is health and fitness, so just don't jeopardize your health for a commitment, if you need rest.

    jugar, love the determination!

marla, love you hiking story! You should've taken their facebook or phone numbers to meet back up with them! But anyway, like you said, just find a safe trail and go anyway! (You could also find a dog to borrow. What dog owner wouldn't love a free dog walker?!)

Okay, so yesterday I stole away for some "me time" and took a slow easy walk thru Plaka before the school program. So, I got my steps! Today was last day of school. I took son to the tutor for last day and I ran down to the beach, bussed part of the way to the gym and then ran the rest of the way, did a quick & dirty leg workout, ran back to pick up son, and then bribed my son with ice cream to walk home with me because I was way too sweaty to show my face on a bus again (it was bad enough the first time, after the beach, but at least I had waited long enough for the bus that it wasn't so so bad). Anyway, good day. Tomorrow I have both kids during day and we have pediatrician appt early evening. If DH can get off work at normal time, I'll have just enough time to get some sort of workout before the appt--hopefully a run to/from gym for quick & dirty upper body workout. Back muscle is slowly working out that kink.

Have a good one all! The weekend approaches!
