^LOVE this one!!
Marking my place. I have been my usual "slug" today and have no idea if I'll get a break from the kids in order to workout before our appointment tonight. Fingers crossed.
Will check back later.
Happy Friday!
the 13th, well whatdoya know, I just now noticed that.0 -
Missed posting yesterday, was kind of a busy, did the mowing and some whipper snipping plus my run (6K) and some needed bookwork, which took forever because I had to do it manually as my main desktop computer is still at the shop getting fixed. I am going to get it today though...how you appreciate things when you don't have them! I am using my laptop, which isn't bad but I have stuff on my other computer that I really need.
Not sure what todays exercise will be, I have to go in to town this morning to pick up computer, run some other errands and get groceries. I bought a pair of running capris last week that I absolutely love so I thought I might pick up another pair. My old shorts are literally see-through in the butt. lol it is giving rain today and a lot of rain tomorrow. I have 27 Kms of running this week, wanted to get 30+ but unless I go in the rain it won't happen. Maybe this afternoon, I think its just a chance of rain. We'll see.0 -
Good morning! (It's morning here, just getting my day started).
Yesterday was a good workout day. I got in a 5k ruck with my 28 pounds ruck during my lunch break. After work, I hit the gym for another New Rules of Lifting for Women workout.0 -
Just leaving for work but wanted to check in. I went to nia yesterday then worked, today supposed to storm with high winds and rain after work...maybe my treadmill sounds good after work...0

First day of Summer break. DH had to work a little late, but still I carved out some time before our kids dr appt and went for a run. I had read something about MAF (max aerobic function) training, where you keep your heartrate at a very low point and if you train exclusively this way over several months, you will increase your ability (go farther) at that same bpm. I wanted to try keep it at the magic number, to see just HOW slow I'd have to go, as a trial. It was slow! I had to walk most hills, to not go over the MAF heartrate. Since Athens is a very hilly place, there's little chance I could make this work, but I tried...and I learned a few things from it, and I'm feeling more encouraged to do some heartrate-centric training, as well as to slow down sometimes in this heat. Anyway, that's what I got done today, and as for the appt, me & the kids got off the bus a stop early to walk and we also walked around the dr.'s 'hood afterwards for some froyo & shopping, and walked halfway back home, so I got my steps in today (~15,000) even without all the school/tutor stuff. Yay!0

Sounds like it was a good exercise day, Sherry! For you and the kids.
Hope the weather wasn't too bad, Marla, and you were able to get a run in. It is funny because we had violent thunderstorms here, too! But the stopped early enough for me to get a run in.
Great workout for you too, xcalygirl!
Hope you got your run in too, maureli. I actually like running in the rain in the summer. My Under Armour Apollos seem like they were made for it, so I always run in them when it's raining and in my other running shoes when it's not.
Laura and Ines, I hope today worked out well for you too.
Got a 6.5 mile run in today. My plan was for 4 miles today and 8 miles tomorrow, but tonight I had the time and the weather wasn't too bad. Wish it was less humid though!
Today I got an invitation to a fun run at a local running store sponsored by ASICS. Use their shoes for the 3-5 mile run. Prizes. Food. Games. So, since it's a day off for me, I figured that I'd go. It starts a little later than I would normally start out, 9 am, but it shouldn't be too warm then, I hope. So I'll go, do the run, and then run again tomorrow night for whatever distance I need to get to 6 or so miles for the day.0
