I am awaiting my eye surgery (just a cataract no big deal except I do not see out of the other eye very well so this eye they are doing must do well!) therefore could not eat or drink anything since midnight....my operation is not til 5:30 have to leave home at 2:00 Do you have any idea how much t.v ads, magazines etc center around food and drink...wow!! I am going to have to go back to bed to make the time go by ha ha. I probably will not do well tomorrow weight in cause I usually gain if I do not eat enough and today only can eat something late so won't be much. Cant wait til tomorrow.

As usual good to hear about everyone I enjoy your posts keep up the good weight and BE HAPPY.

Yikes....that is a long time without food or drink. Don't worry about the scales right now...things will even out even if tomorrow doesn't look good. But...saying that....I hope tomorrow LOOKS really good. Brighter and clearer than for a while.
Hugs. I hope the surgery goes text book perfect.

I had one eye done on April 15 and the other April 29. The surgery was a breeze. Mine was in the morning, but the minute I was wheeled out of the operating room, they brought me some juice and peanut butter crackers to tied me over. I was out of there within 30 minutes and went out to eat. The one restriction I had was I was not allowed to prepare food. Just plan on somewhere nearby or something to pick up. I felt good enough to go to a restaurant. I had no restrictions on food after surgery since I was only under for a few minutes while they prepped the eye. I wasn't under for the surgery.

Too bad yours is so late. Good luck! You will be so happy afterwards!

PS: First time since I was five years old I don't need corrective lens. I do put on reading glasses, but big deal.

Good Luck today Linda: hope all goes well. Similar to Charlie, I had my eyes done a couple of years ago and everything was great. Wore glasses since I was 7yo and very poor vision, couldn't see even to walk to bathroom without those specs! Don't worry about the eating, one thing at a time. TKS for letting us know about your day, we are here for you, so when you can let us know how you are doing! Cheers, Marian

That is a very long time without food. I wonder why you could not have a small breakfast since it is so late in the day. Good luck with the surgery! I know you will do just great.

I had my left eye done one year ago. It's a breeze and only takes 10 minutes! Good luck and let us know how you are doing. My surgeon called me in the evening to see how I was doing but I missed his call because I was out on the verandah with my sister enjoying a glass of wine. :drinker:

    Dear God,

Thank you for the role of doctors, nurses, and surgeons. Thank you for the blessing of knowledge and understanding, for the breakthroughs in medicine and all the specialist treatments.

Lord, may you oversee each area of this surgery, every detail and protect Linda and keep her as she looks forward to recovery and the future.

    Amen.

@ireallyneedit--I had both eyes done--2weeks apart about 4 years ago. Everything went extremely well. I'm sure you'll be fine. I look forward to updates while you are healing. Good vibes also being sent.

Thank you all so very very much for your good wishes. I had a bit of a hard time due to it being my good eye and I am extremely claustrophobic so it was a little challenging. My Dr. will not allow me to go to my aerobic exercises til I see him on the 18th....I am very swollen in both eyes ??? I am allergic to anti-inflamatories so that does not help but hey when you look to your right and then to your left you see so many in worse shape than yourself so I feel blessed that I have so few problems REALLY.

Again I sure appreciated all your good wishes. I did go back and record all my foods did not do very good but not going to weight myself til next Wed. I know the lack of exercise will kill me. I am going to go for a little walk tomorrow just have to be careful that is all. Boy he did not want me to bend til I see him DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WE BEND IN A DAY....I did not but we do it a lot for sure.

Have a great weekend and hopefully Fri. the 13th was a-ok . Did you know that a full-moon falls on Fri. 13th only every 40 years or so - I guess we will not see the next one it was today. HA HA....

No such thing as a bad day. Just a learning day. Bad can infer you were bad and that's not true. Be gentle with yourself.
