Do I have "detox" rash?

I'm a long time vegetarian, few months vegan, very recently trying to eat more raw/low-fat foods.

I've developed an itchy, red skin rash. It is on my forearms, armpits, hips, and inner thighs.
It has been around for two weeks and is just spreading more and more each day.

I haven't used any new soaps, lotions, perfumes, etc.
My diet is the only thing that has changed. I do not have any known food allergies.
I have not eaten any new foods, everything I've had before and never a problem.

From searching the internet, it seems like "detox rash" is a common occurrence.
It kind of sounds like bologna to me. Does anyone else have experience with this?
I've set a doctor's appointment for this week but in the meantime I'd love to get some advice from you guys.

Thank you!

My doctor gave me a cream for the rash and said stop eating bananas for a week and see if it goes away.
It is only my first day without bananas and I miss them already >___<

When I first went raw I had what looked like poison ivy in random places all over my body. It went away after a couple weeks.

I wouldn't personally use any cream as the body is using the skin to release toxins and will then have to find another outlet if it is detox. Perhaps take an oatmeal bath or use something else natural in the bath.

Improper food combining can also cause problems. Specially when mixing fats and sweet fruits together. Be cautious of how you are combining and keep foods very simple like one or two types of foods as a meal. Careful with citus as well. Citrus has caused me to get rashes and and itchiness once I started eating it in higher amounts. Same with any garlic or onions. Avoid spices as well.

How did you deal with it? Mentally and physically?

I'd love to stay away from medication, and use alternative/natural cures. I don't have a bathtub, my home only has a standing shower. I will look into food combining. I have not been paying attention to it and have been eating all kinds of foods together.

I am incredibly frustrated. This isn't an abrupt change, I've been slowly incorporating more and more healthy/fresh/raw foods into my diet. Why is my body so angry all of a sudden?
I want to make positive changes in my lifestyle so that I am healthier, more energetic, less body fat. But at this point, my skin is so painful and disgusting looking that I'd rather be fat and have the same great skin I had before.

    :(

I agree with Danika. I wouldn't use any medicines because your body is trying to get rid of the toxins and if you prevent it for doing so it won't be able to and when you stop using the meds it'll come back worse than before. Just like when I first went raw my acne got a lot worse and it was annoying! But I realized my skin was getting dryer and I stopped using acne medications and it started getting a lot better (but didn't completely go away). Then my mom got mad at me and made me start using the acne medications again (she is seriously obsessed with beauty and is tired of me having an ugly face lol) and my acne got SO MUCH WORSE and like idc what she says anymore but the skin medications do not help at all. Just let your skin heal naturally and let your body detox and heal itself. It is perfectly capable of doing so although it may be uncomfortable (: definitely look into food combining. Like I cannot stress how important it is!!!

Sounds like it. When I went high raw and went cold turkey on dairy and meat I developed a rash right on my butt.....yea try coping with that while at work. It went away eventually. I can't recall what I changed diet wise though...
