Staying cool

So as we move into full on summer with the heat and pollen and other fun challenges for working out outside what do you do to stay cool and listen to your body? A few changes I have started to make is adding Gatorade to my fluid intake, with the heat and sweating more at time you need more than water to help recover. I am drinking a lot more water now to make sure I am hydrated before a workout and carrying water on my runs. I am also more aware of how I am feeling during a workout to make sure I do not push my body harder than it can handle. I am debating getting one of the cooling towels that you see everywhere but have not pulled the trigger on that yet. So the question of the day is what do you do that works for you that others here may find helpful?

Things I do to stay cool: I drink water all day and include gatorade if planning on outdoor activities. I tend to run in the mornings when its much cooler. Do not wear cotton anything as sweat doesn't evaporate. Wear breathable tops to cool you. Otherwise it's the the dreaded treadmill at the gym or stationary bike or cardio classes.

I get my run in early on really hot days. We were over 100º for a couple of days this week, so on my run day I was out the door by 5:30 am (and it was still 74º and humid!), and ended up not running as far as planned because the heat just zaps me. I also make sure to hydrate well all day every day.
