I can't believe you'd come in here bragging about your depth privilege.0

i dont know if i should take this seriously or lol..... i think hamstrings parallel to floor is the minimum depth anyone should have for a legit squat. as for the ATG squats, i use to be able to get there, but not so much any more... 2 very bad ankle injuries when i was younger are finally taking their toll on me as i get older.0 -

Some things just aren't funny man. I've never been red lighted on a squat, but I realized I'm blessed to have joint angles that conform to societies' standards. I'd never go into a power lifting forum and flaunt it. #allsquatsarebeautiful0 -
Because of years of powerlifting and doing few mobility and flexibility movements, I became rather tight and had horrible hips, knees, and ankles. Instead of accepting it, I did something about it. Saying that a half squat is 'beautiful' doesn't cut it with me. In competition, hit depth or it's a red light. Period. Instead of accepting the fact that hip/knee/ankle mobility sucks, go work to change it or continue to suck.
My. $0.02...

^^ truth
The article was a dig at some of the BS judging calls seen in equipped meets. I hear some of the big names put some pressure on judges. Dodgy.0 -
I'm pretty sure the entire thing was meant tongue in cheek. Having been red lighted on my fair share of squats I find it is funny.0

I know this is a super old post, but I was browsing IG today and saw this chick who got an American record for this squat.
Hopefully it's federation only which is still ridiculous, but slightly less so.
