Great threadstarter today! I didn't go to the bonus image but I saw it on Facebook last week and couldn't stop laughing. I would have "shared" it except I have people on my FB friend list who would be offended by the language. Too bad there wasn't a PG13 version.
Rest day today!0 -
Good morning!
Yesterday was a hit and miss day. I didn't get to ruck at lunch. I hit the gym after work to do a NROLFW workout. It was a really good workout. I'm feeling stronger each time! YAY!! I decided I didn't want to miss out on my ruck, so I aimed to do it after I got home from the gym. It sucked! I felt really off the whole time. My calves were super tight, my hip started to hurt, and my shoulders were killing me. It was also stupid hot at 6PM. I was really slow, but I finished my 5k.0 -
Good morning this morning!
It’s verrrry hard for me to eat within my calories and even more so lately since my trainer made me stop eating my workout calories (#$%^&*!). So I was very proud of self for eating only 32 calories over yesterday. I guzzled loads of water and that feels good.
I slept terribly last night (stupid jet lag) and slept through my AM workout. Again. I also did something funny to my shoulder, I woke up with a twinge. I had my husband rub some pain relief ointment on it so now I smell like an old lady.
Today I lead a lunchtime walk at work and so I’m on the hook. And I remembered to bring socks (my feet were okay yesterday—just be glad you weren’t my coworker lol). I’m hoping I can go to bed early tonight and get back on track over the weekend.0 -
Good Morning
Welcome Aprilfoolbrid!! Nice to have you here
Just got back from an 8km run, which brings my monthly total up to 91.1km. Last month I had a total of 88Km and today is only the 20th so I'll be adding on to my 91. I use to run well over 100kms a month a few years ago, so I am feeling like I'm getting back into my groove.0 -
I ran my planned 7 miles this morning. I took it quite slow and easy, so I really didn't have much trouble with it. At one point I passed two women, one of whom was coaching the other. She encouraged her friend/client by using me as an example. "She's passing you!" "Run with her at her pace." I wish I could say that I felt good about passing her and keeping on as I went by, but I found it both funny and not funny. I wouldn't want someone yelling at me like that, yet I felt good that I had gone over 4 miles by that point and still was keeping my (slow but regular) pace up.
Flyball tournament this weekend, so on my feet all day, doing sprints all day, yet not exercising exactly, so I never know how to count it. I don't always get a lot of steps in, as I spend so much time just standing, yet still get in well more than I would sitting in front of the computer at work. Normal race behavior is holding a bent over posture or a squat (see my picture; I have to hold Fells in position but not pick him up), release him and run forward with or after him for about 15 feet, watch him hit the box, then turn and run from him for about 30-50 feet, treat him, then walk back to position, bend over (or squat) and hold him there. I do this 5 or 6 times in a row. Prior to this I do a warm up run, where I'll release him just in front of the box and then run the 70 feet to our start position. We do all this only about 4 times a day. Most of the other times I'm just walking slowly around or standing, unless I'm assigned to be a box loader. If so, then I have to lift and carry the box (only about 20-30 lbs, but awkward to carry) for about 30 feet, stand and put the balls in the box for each dog, then take the box out of the lane when the race is over.
I'm really happy how much easier tournaments have become over the past 18 months and that I tend to be less sore after them.... or maybe it's because I'm sore all the time now so it's not as noticable
Hope you all have a great weekend!0 -
Busy, busy, busy here--with BIL here and anticipating our trip coming up. Of course right now I'm doing absolutely nothing because I have a kitten passed out on my lap. Considering she's been a bitey, scratchy little monster since we got her, I'm not going to give up this cuddle time for anything!
Today I ran the most direct route down to the beach (straight down the highway, all downhill), walked along the coast and then started back the non-direct, hilly route. Just when i was getting in the groove on the way back, I turned a corner and saw deep gray rain clouds. I stopped immediately at a tram station and was on the tram when the sky opened up. The rain was done by the time I got to my home station and I walked home. A little disappointed I didn't get the full run back, since I'll be packing tomorrow and travelling Sunday and then who knows.
Have a good one everyone, and tgif!0 -
Hi everyone! I'm still sore from a class I did yesterday.. but NO PAIN NO GAIN, am I right?? I plan to do Zumba later...
Happy Friday!0 -
You are a bunch of dedicated runners here! I wish I could still run (tore up a knee pretty badly a couple of years ago) but I also wish I had had the trainer telling me one of you was passing me today, and I better get my butt in gear! I flaked off my workout and just did the round of necessary tasks. Grrrrrrrrr to myself.
Tomorrow without fail, the weights will be lifted -- the sweat will flow!0
