My weakness and learning to run again

Hi there, I have always wanted to become a runner and at one time in my 20's I was successful. I am really struggling with getting back to where I was. I had polio as a child and thank goodness that I am not paralyzed nor confined to a wheelchair because that was a real possibility, especially being born in a third world country. My right leg is stronger and a little longer than my left and my left foot has a slightly strange arch because of overcompensation. So, my right leg can run forever and I find that my left leg gets tired faster and I have to work past some foot pain? I don't know what to call it...once I am over the hump my foot is fine. If you have any suggestions, comments or questions please feel free to reply or friend me if you'd like. I have custom orthotics, but they hurt. Thanks :-)
