Sherry, welcome to America! Have big fun!

Laura, I hope you are feeling better!

This morning a drippy shower faucet woke up me at 4:30… so I hopped on the exercise bike until it got light enough to go for a stroll outside. Packed a healthy lunch & snacks plus made healthy breakfast. I’m also on track for a walk at work this afternoon—I remembered everything for a change. I got in 70% of my steps before 9am!

Very tired as you could imagine, so am going to hit the hay early tonight.

    Good morning all!

Yesterday was an ok day. I went to the gym for a NROLFW workout. It was ok. I made some gains in my lifts, but I wasn't mentally in it. I went to a different branch of my gym because I was in the area, and I was unimpressed. They didn't have a whole lot of equipment and what they did have was being used. I ended up having to improvise on a few things just to make it through my workout. I also went to hot yoga in the afternoon. It was a really good class. We did a bunch of twists and worked out our hips a lot, which is what I needed.

Hope everyone has a good day!

    Hi everyone!

Congratulations on the half marathon, Laura! That's a terrific time for your first one! Hope you're not too sore now that you're a couple days out.

Welcome back to the US, Sherry, hope you have a lot of fun on your vacation and with your family. I'm sure that they all are looking forward to seeing you.

I way overate last week. I'm also not getting unsore over the days, no real recovery, so I think that I might be doing too much, too much running and too much food.

Went to a big flyball tournament last weekend. It was the second largest in North America. While it was local (an hour and a half drive away) for me, some of the clubs came from much farther, like Toronto and Chicago. The fastest divisions were reaching speeds that were amazing.

My plan was to run 2.5 miles on both Saturday and Sunday, but I didn't manage that. I just walked around at the tournament on Saturday, but still got close to 20k steps in. On Sunday, I ran 4 miles in the morning and then went to the tournament, but it was a shorter day, so I didn't walk quite as much there. Still got a lot more steps in though because of the run.

My run was in York, PA and was up and down rolling hills with nothing really bad and nothing flat at all. I expect that it will be the sort of ground that I will see at the half marathon I signed up for in the beginning of September.

I've got 4 miles to do tonight and then get 22 more miles in by the end of the month, then I'm going to re-evaluate how to both be ready for the half marathon and yet not kill myself before then.

    Good afternoon everyone

Today's plan was to run, was hoping for something longish, and my legs were feeling pretty good so I managed a 10K run. Soon I will up my long run distance, maybe 12k some day i am feeling it. We'll see! Yesterday was rest day, and it felt nice to lay around a bit. I spent quite a bit of time reading my kobo....I love reading and haven't spent much time doing any in the past few weeks.

April there was no toe stepping at all! Those early mornings can be brutal. Hopefully you can stay awake today.

Xcal I'm jealous of your hip work in hot yoga. Since I started running I'm all about anything hip opening. Feels so good! My Pilates instructor usually manages to work some stuff in.

Donna you have been pushing a lot with the running. And with the extra miles it's hard not to eat all the food. Have you looked into HM training plans? I followed a modified version of the Hal Higdon novice plan. My trainer changed it a bit to add in some hill repeats or speed work once a week and he also made my long runs longer since I had already built up to a 10 mile run before starting it. But it was easy to modify the plan so I could work in all my other activities as well.

Sherry welcome back to the States! You must be exhausted. Hopefully your kids are transitioning well to the travel.

Nice run Maureen! I think 10K might be one of my favorite distances.

I'm feeling pretty good today. I took a maintenance break from trying to lose weight during my half training but vowed to get back on track today. Actually got back on track yesterday. I expected to be really hungry but my appetite was normal. As of this morning I'm up 3 pounds but in the large scope of things that's not so bad. I'm down a pound from yesterday already so some of it was apparently water weight. Hopefully in a couple weeks I'm back down to where I was pre-training and I can lose the last 10-15 pounds I want to take off.

Have a walk scheduled with a friend at lunch, then have a trainer session tonight after work. My legs are a little stiff and my feet still haven't totally forgiven me, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good.

hi everyone, first day here! i just did my ashtanga yoga practice a little bit ago, which is my main exercise that i'm hoping to keep up with doing 6 days a week. it's hot and humid today so it was very sweaty! i felt weaker than when i last practiced on friday, but i think it was a stamina thing with the heat. i was so tired after i fell asleep for a few minutes in savasana (the final resting pose)! i don't know how accurate the calorie estimation is for yoga - there are so many different kinds of yoga, some very slow and simple and some much more vigorous. i don't know if any actual science on the different types exists?

so far i've eaten well today and it's my first day using the site to track my food. i'm hoping it works out OK because i make a lot of my own recipes and i'm worried that it will be time consuming entering new recipes all the time. i don't like to eat the same food a lot! i entered my planned food for the rest of the day and it seemed to fit perfectly with my calories so that's encouraging. i'm not used to measuring out what i eat though.

i had lunch after my practice and have to say that it feels like there's a lot more room in there! i'm going to try to have some tea and see if it settles things down.

Hi all! Warning that my replies may be spotty at best. I'm sharing the iPad with my son and staying at mother in laws for a couple days to rest before the eight hour drive to my hometown. Anyway, so far this trip is wreaking havoc as far as activity and eating and I'm just hoping things normalize soon. Feeling a bit tired and wobbly still. Think I might go out for a walk.

    Welcome ShraddhaOm!
