Congratulations fitmiks! that really is superb!
my weekend was totally rest because of a cold and a fever. I am back on track with my Week 5 of the Program.0 -
Day 2 of Week 5 done! i just love strength training!0
-
too many jumping jacks on Day 3 Week 5!! but im super glad i can now really jump so much!
Any tricks on how to keep the hair up in a bun during jumps? I have hair longer than my waist; which i tie in a plait and then secure as a bun with a long pin...and it all keeps tumbling down!0 -
@Jasneet: Usually, I tie a ponytail then wrap my hair around in a bun and secure it with claw clips. It stays put quite well.
After a 3 day hiatus, I did w3d2 today. Having a running buddy is a double edged sword. When they are committed, it doubles your motivation. But when they aren't, it demotivates you. My running buddy couldn't make it this week and I ended up getting lazy and missing my Tuesday run. I've decided I will keep running. She will just have to catch up by herself.0 -
ouch@fitmiks but good decision.
im nearly done with my week 5 too. just 1 more day to go. soemdays i just have to drag myself out of bed to workout! and today was really one of them! barely any burn!0 -
after a week long of indulging food, no exercise and gaining back 1 kg, yesterday i started working out again. Started at day 1 of 30DS. today i managed to get in some brisk walking along with 30DS. I hope that these kind of breaks will not come up again..
both of u are doing great sticking with your challenges
@fitmiks - c25k is on my mind too. as of now, i am not fit enough i guess. i shall take tips from u when i am starting!0 -
Week 3 is finally over. Week 4 looks scary. 16 minutes of running! :noway: Let's see what happens on Tuesday.
@ Greeshu: Good to see you active again. A bad week here or there doesn't matter as long as we stay committed over the long run. There are some pre-C25K programs that'll help you ease into running. You could try those if you don't feel comfortable with the C25K right now.0 -
Week 6 Day 2 done!
@Greeshu welcome back. I indulge in food everyday so dont worry about it one single bit. just keep logging no matter what you eat. for me, it builds an awareness of how much portion i can indulge in; and that itself is a big victory.
Eg: a Subway salad is about 250 Cals; while a Subway is 600+. So if i am eating at home; i just get the salad; and use regular bread slices..best of both worlds
@fitmiks! wow! thats fantastic! I need to add to this routine because im not losing weight! but i need to get my schedule in order first.0 -
No exercise today & tomorrow! coz im staying out at a friend's house for a girl's night out! :drinker: Pizza Express; Haagen Daz; wine and fun!!! Yiiippiiee! :bigsmile:0
-
@fitmiks : thank you. I surely need those pre-c25k prgrms. I shall ask you once I am done with 30DS.
I hope you managed to complete the 16 mins running..
@jasneet: Glad to meet another foodie! I understand that logging those emotional eating days are important to gain some awareness. I can do that I guess. n btw have fun at the girls night out !!
Done with my 30 DS for the day. I started a new one too - 30days abs challenge. So far, it feels doable.0 -
@greeshu My only advice would be to keep logging! I do it immediately after a meal; or pre-log if I know what I will be eating later in the day.
a smartphone these days is your best friend in this weight loss endeavor. Check out the calories of the food you are thinking of eating; and then make your decision. Trust me, you will make a better choice.
Eg: I was on an office tour on Friday; and my only choice at lunch was McDonalds. I have downloaded the nutrition chart from their Indian website and used that to make my meal choice after checking my macro limits on MFP. So instead of having the McChicken Wrap (which i erroneously always assumed was lesser calories as there is no burger bun); I had a McSpicy Chicken Burger because it is lesser calories and fat!
I am an emotional eater too; but logging helps me make better choices in portion sizes. That is a battle won!
What are you using for the 30 day ab challenge? I want to do one too!0 -
Thanks for the support ladies. W4d1 done. I ran at a snail's pace but I completed it. As you might have noticed, I've given up on the 30DS. I was just too sore to do both back to back, and I really want to finish the C25K this time. I found a yoga routine for runners which I am going to try on my rest days.0
-
@jasneet- it has happened with me too. When I am eating out in a place life kfc or subway I checkup which food is better. but my cravings do sometime take over my common sense. Maybe pre-logging my meals would be a good idea. I will surely try that.! The abs challenge I referred to is here – http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/30-day-abs-challenge/
I don’t have any information on how effective it is or anything like that. I am doing it only because I wanted to do something for abs. And this one has so far been easy to incorporate with other workouts. Do let me know what you think
fitmiks, great job with c25k.. does not matter if you are slow, you are able to run that much and that it is a great achievement. Keep going.. I hope you find the yoga interesting.
I was feeling too tired in d morning itself and so had to postpone the 30DS to evening. I hope I can stick with it..
Edit- to add the correct link0 -
Finally back to the workouts! feels good and sore!
kickboxing truly makes me feel so uncoordinated! :grumble:0 -
@jasneet – I know what you mean. For a change today I tried out a kick boxing routine by fitness blender. It took me lot of time to get the movements correct! It was fun anyway. I am doing the 30DS too.0

W4d2 done. I am almost halfway through the program. Yippee!0
-
So ive had a crazy week! with more rest days than exercising and lots of amazing food! thankfully i controlled the portion sizes and have stayed within my calories (to a large extent) but it is definitely time to get back to the exercising!
im just going to repeat my week 6 from tomorrow on.
@fitmiks super congrats!0 -
Finally back on track!0

Week 4 is done. Jasneet, good to see you back on track. I've been a little lax with my diary last week. Got lazy and didn't weigh my food. Just been entering approximate calories. Hope I don't pay for it at my weigh in. Do you ladies have ups and downs with tracking?0
-
i track daily; no matter what ive eaten. but yes i dont weigh my food. that is kinda impractical for me. so i tend to use items with higher calories; unless its a recipe ive created.
Week 6 Day 2 done0 -
Week 5 Day 1 kicked my butt! I was huffing and puffing but somehow made it through. So July ends with 2 days short of week 5. My goal was to finish week 5. Overall not a bad performance.0
-
I had planned to finish Week 7 of my 8 Week Program; but I had to repeat my Week 6; due to a week of unplanned chutti!
I havent lost as much weight as Id have wanted; so will be a bit more stricter with myself in August.0
